Studies of Equity-Minded Organizational Learning in Educational Contexts
Sun, April 14, 11:25am to 12:55pm, Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Floor: Level 3, Room 307Session Type: Symposium
Abstract
As education scholars committed to “dismantling racial injustice and embracing educational possibilities,” we know that equity-minded change is not just an individual mandate. Creating pathways to more just futures in educational spaces demands an imperative to drive shifts in individuals’ consciousness and sensemaking about our social world, as well as organizational policies, routines, and practices. Thus, this symposium brings together scholars working at the intersection of organizational learning and change, racial equity, and identity to feature work that brings into focus how and to what extent practitioners’ socio-political identities contribute to equity-minded organizational learning and change.
