11. Dave Myers, Kent 19 September 2007

Hello all teams.

first off congrats to Hull and Humber, great stuff, just wish I could be in La Rochelle to see you off......

At work there are a number of Aussies that have “become interested” in the race due to my watching it, they are a very competetive bunch and it has now set an extra level of interest for me.

My brother is on Glasgow, his girlfriend is due to join Quingdao from Australia, and currently both are ahead of WesternAustralia.... great stuff!

It is unfortuntely highly frustrating waiting for the updates, having to wait 2 hours for them to filter through to the site is a disaster for my work ethic, especially as the competition with the others heats up, cries of “no Dave you aren’t allowed to check the race standings, there is work to be done” are becoming rather too frequent!! Well with luck they will get it sorted out and the updates will come through a little quicker on the next race.

I’m so glad I got to wave all of you off from Liverpool, and it looked like you all had interesting starts, and where going for it from the gun.

Keep it up and I look forward to more excitement (preferably not involving evacuating sailors from the boat) during race 2.

commiserations for the crew on Jamaica for having to retire, I assume you all made sure you had your “rum rashion” to hand for the last part of the race, and I guess that you are ahead in the “party animals award” whilst in port!

take care all, enjoy your short rest, you all deserve it.

Dave M
