Reasonable prices good popcorn. But it's hard to accept that when outside of this theater setting the other owner (the wife) comes off/appears to be prejudice. I won't be putting any more of my money into this theatre especially for a individual who treats people of color as if they're beneath her in their own place of business. Treat others as you wish to be treated especially if you're asking for a service to be provided for you.
God bless your troubled heart.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - Sami M.Kirkland, WA03Jul 6, 2016
This place is amazing. Great staff, great movies, great snacks. Fun to watch the movies and fun to work at the theater itself. Always a good time no matter what. Such a cute place. I practically live there.

This is a local theater in a small island town; the only place to see first run movies. But it's clean, the seats are new and very comfortable and they try to keep the best movies available at very reasonable prices : two adults for Star Wars Force Awakens in its first week for $15. For two, not each. Decent stock at the concession stand. And once in a while they have special events, like showing Elf on Christmas.

They have first run movies, they have that going for them, plus the bonus of being the only theater in town.
So should I give them 5 stars for that? Certain reviewers of the island (captain awsome for example) seem to think that having the open sign out earns you 5 stars, whats with that?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Garrett G.Austin, TX666424Nov 17, 2014
Fun little local theater. Relaxed staff, reasonable facilities.

Yes, it's the only movie theater on the Island, but I still love the manager, Aaron. What a sweetie. Plus, most of the time the movies are new releases that are good. I've never been able to get nutritional yeast on my popcorn at any other movie theater, so that too, deserves a high five.

The Palace Theater is a very cool unique movie theater. It shows first run movies on three screens. Each theater is small. They serve a number of unusual snacks including popcorn with yeast, which is very tasty. The service is very friendly.

The Palace is a nice little theatre, two, actually -- there is the main theater in front, and a smaller theater up a narrow hallway behind the main one. It's exciting to go to a movie, with all the sounds and smells of a theater we all know (and love?). They have fresh popcorn and all the usual treats and drinks. What I was hoping for, however, is something a little out of the ordinary, like better snacks, or healthier snacks, or maybe some real food for a change instead of the chemical stuff that is becoming the norm. You can get movie showtimes by calling 370-5666, which is cool. In any case, check out http://www.simply-san-juan.com for this and other activities while you are on San Juan Island.

I LOVE this cute old theater! Great picture quality, inexpensive tickets and wonderful service! Old fashioned lobby and only two screens but they have first run movies and...well... it's just authentic feeling. Makes seeing a movie more than just seeing a movie. It's the whole theater experiance without all the lines and nonsense of modern theaters. Comfy chairs, old school class. Plan on seeing many many films here!

OK for some first-run movies, generally aimed at the teenage male crowd, and nothing remotely independent unless it's a major revenue magnet. And, no web site, no online presence at all, and when called on Thursday for the nights movies the recording had already been updated for the weekend with no info about tonight. All in all a community-unfriendly place that's more interested in your money than anything else.
