Apple Tablet Will Cost Under $1,000, Says Ex-Google Prez

Kai-Fu Lee, former Apple employee and one-time president of Google China, says a "knowledgable friend," knows all about Apple's soon-to-be-released Tablet computer.

In a post translated by Cloned In China,  Kai-Fu says Apple plans to produce almost 10 million tablet computers that will:

  • Look like a bigger version of the iPhone.
  • Come with a 10.1-inch multitouch screen.
  • Support videoconfrencing.
  • Use a virtual keyboard.
  • Cost under $1,000.
  • Come equppied with a 3D graphics card.

Take this gossip with a grain of salt, because we have no way of knowing whether Kai-Fu is full of it or not. He's blogging to promote his new startup Innovation Works and everyone knows one way to get attention is to gossip about Apple gadgets.

What's more, Kai-Fu is something a controversial figure in tech, perhaps best known for being accused of violating a non-compete when he quit Microsoft to join Google in 2005.
