Huntsville Police Department unveils statue for Fallen Officers Memorial

HUNTSVILLE, AL -- The Huntsville Police Department unveiled the first phase of its Fallen Officers Memorial today at the Public Safety and Municipal Justice Complex on Wheeler Avenue.

The Huntsville Police Citizen's Foundation, the nonprofit group tasked with fundraising and management of the memorial, showed off the larger-than-life bronze statue during a ceremony at 4:15 p.m.

The foundation is still looking for donations to complete the base of the memorial and finish the benches, sidewalks and landscaping around the statue. The entire project is expected to cost $450,000.
