A Pennsylvania woman was allegedly beaten up and shaved by her daughter and granddaughter Sunday because she reportedly turned up the radio for the preseason Steelers game too loudly.
According to Paul Peirce of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 40-year-old Delores Amorino and 17-year-old Sarah Amorino were charged today with āaggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, strangulation, terroristic threats, false imprisonment, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief.ā
The affidavit states that the Amorinosā abuse included Delores twisting the unnamed victimās arm, as well as Sarah hitting her in the face with a broom, choking her with her bare hands and a scarf, and shaving her head āusing scissors and a shaver.ā This all happened after the grandmother tried to watch the Steelers game on TV, before switching to a radio. From the Tribune-Review:
Trooper Ty Smith alleges in an affidavit of probable cause that the abuse occurred over two days, Sunday and Monday, and started when the Amorinos began arguing with the victim, who authorities said is in her 70s, over the volume on the television during the Steelers.
āThe victim was unhappy with the volume of the TV after the defendants turned the volume low, so the victim locked herself in the bedroom and turned on her radio. The defendants broke the door jam [sic], entered the victimās room saying, āyou donāt need to listen to the gameā,ā and began abusing her,ā Smith said in the affidavit of probable cause.
Bail for both women was set at $200,000. Sarah Amorino is being charged as an adult.
