What's Happening in Our Classrooms

Amity students had a great time celebrating spirit week this week!  Students showed their school spirit with "spirit wear days."  A special thank you goes out to Mr. Huster and Joe Hocker for speaking to our Amity students during lunches to invite them to the high school athletic events free of charge during Homecoming Week.

Books by the Banks: Get on the Bus!

BBB

Deer Park Schools is excited to announce that we will be hosting a FREE activity for district families on October 20. The district will facilitate a bus trip to Books by the Banks for students and one parent/guardian and provide lunch for the group!

Plan for the day:

We will meet at Amity Elementary on Saturday, October 20th at 11:00am.  We will have hot dogs, chips and drinks for everyone before loading up the bus at 11:30am.  We will plan to stay at the event from noon until 2:30pm.  We should arrive back in Deer Park at around 3:00pm. This is a free event for students of all ages. Due to space and age restrictions on the bus, we are asking only one adult per school aged child.  Additional family members can meet us down at the event.

What is Books by the Banks?

Books by the Banks Cincinnati Regional Book Festival is held annually in downtown Cincinnati. The day-long festival, which is free and open to the public, features national, regional, and local authors and illustrators; book signings; panel discussions; and activities for the entire family to enjoy.  There will also be a special kids area with hands on activities, face painting, and balloon animals.

The 12th annual Books by the Banks Cincinnati Regional Book Festival will take place Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Duke Energy Center. Admission is free.  More information can be found HERE.

Deer Park Community City School District Launches Strategic Plan

SP

Over the course of the last year, Deer Park Community City School District, in partnership with EPIC Impact Education Group, engaged with students, staff, parents, community members, and other district stakeholders to begin the development of a new strategic plan. The district obtained feedback by conducting listening sessions, multiple focus group meetings, and providing targeted surveys which produced nearly 700 responses.

The culmination of all this feedback resulted in a strategic planning process that began to shape a new district mission, vision, core values, and goals that will drive the district’s work over the coming years.

Notes & Reminders

Morning Drop-Off

Please remember that the Amity parking lot is for staff parking only.  In addition, as part of our updated safety plan in our new building, we ask that starting Monday, no parents enter the building to walk their child to their classroom.  All parent entry needs to be through the secure entry.  Thank you for your understanding and for helping to keep our facility safe each school day.
