Michael Porter Jr.'s Freshman Season Is Over After Two Minutes Of Play

Michael Porter Jr. will likely be one of the first five players taken in the 2018 NBA Draft. The general consensus pegs him as one of the elite prospects available next year, although unlike Marvin Bagley III, DeAndre Ayton, Mohamed Bamba, and Luka Doncic, Porter will have practically no experience playing against Division I or European competition before the draft. Missouri announced today that he’d miss the rest of the season with a back injury.

Porter finishes his freshman season, and maybe his college basketball career, with two points on one shot attempt and two minutes played in the Tigers’ season opener against Iowa State. As for Mizzou, coach Cuonzo Martin will have to look ahead to the next two Porter children: 6-foot-11 forward Jontay (who’s on the team now) and current high schooler Coban.
