NEW DELHI: Outlining the agenda of his two-day visit to China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that he will be discussing vision and priorities for national development with his counterpart, Xi Jinping.
"President Xi and I will exchange views on a range of issues of bilateral and global importance. We will discuss our respective visions and priorities for national development, particularly in the context of current and future international situation," he tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach China on April 27 for an informal summit with President Xi Jinping.

The summit is being seen as an effort by India and China to rebuild trust and improve ties that were hit by the 73-day-long Doklam standoff last year.
The two leaders will also review the developments in India-China relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, PM Modi said.
While no major agreements were expected to be reached at the summit, both sides have indicated that the meeting is aimed at giving an "honest try" by the two leaders to work out an understanding at the top on the future course of relations.

This informal discussion is going to take place for the first time after 1954.
Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi said on Sunday at the joint press conference with external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj in Beijing, "We will make sure that the informal summit (between PM Modi and Chinese President Jinping on April 27-28) will be a complete success and a milestone in China-India relations."
The summit comes ahead of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Qingdao city in June.
No agreements will be signed between India and China and no customary joint press conference will be held during Prime Minister Modi's two-day visit.
