This workshop is for professionals who want to train teachers in the empirically-supported Incredible Years (IY) Teacher Classroom Management (TCM) Program.  Group leaders should have a background in child development, behavior management principles, and adult group leadership skills.  Experience teaching young children is recommended and experience delivering another Incredible Years program is beneficial.  Agency directors and supervisors are also encouraged to attend to know how best to support group leaders and implementation of this model. 

This workshop will help group leaders learn to deliver the Incredible Years TCM Program to early childhood and early elementary teachers (of children ages 3-8 years). The curriculum is focused on strengthening teachers' classroom management skills, promoting children's social, emotional, and academic competence/school readiness, and reducing classroom aggression and disruptive behaviors. Additionally, the curriculum focuses on ways teachers can effectively collaborate with parents to support their school involvement and promote consistency between the home and school. Each attendee will receive "Incredible Teachers: Nurturing Children's Social, Emotional, and Academic Competence" by Carolyn Webster-Stratton.

*Cancellation Policy: Participants who cancel their registration prior to July 15 will receive a refund of the registration fee minus a $45 administrative charge.  Participants who cancel their registration on or after July 15 will receive a refund of the registration fee minus a $100 administrative charge.  UNC Chapel Hill reserves the right to cancel this training if it is undersold.  In the event that the training is canceled by UNC, registrants will receive a full refund.  Participants are advised to confirm that the training will be held before purchasing non-refundable airline tickets.
