The renderings for the new, smaller O’Gara’s Bar and Grill on Snelling and Selby avenues have been released, and that corner is going to look very different.

The design for the space where the sprawling pub currently sits includes 163 apartment units, 205 parking stalls, an integrated co-working space and more than 4,000 square feet of space for O’Gara’s. The current bar space is more than four times that size.

Dan O’Gara, the third-generation owner of the restaurant, said in a statement: “This is a perfect project for the next chapter of O’Gara’s. While we will retain lots of little touches that will remind of our past, our smaller footprint and outdoor patio area will reshape our business, making it feel like a great neighborhood pub and restaurant.”

Ryan Cos. is the developer on the project. The company submitted plans to the city of St. Paul and the goal is to begin construction this fall.
