The United States is in the midst of an opioid crisis, and an emerging body of evidence suggests previously unappreciated opportunities to improve care through optimizing prescribing around acute and surgical episodes of care. Dr. Nielsen will discuss the issue broadly, as well specifically covering ongoing work at UNC.
