Purchase options and add-ons
Clementine is NOT having a good week.
On Monday she's sent to the principal's office for cutting off Margaret's hair. On Tuesday, Margaret's mother is mad at her. On Wednesday, she's sent to the principal, again. On Thursday, Margaret stops speaking to her. Then Friday starts with yucky eggs and only gets worse. And by Saturday, even her mother is mad at her.
Okay, fine. Clementine is having a DISASTROUS week. But maybe she can find a way to make it better.

*"Middle-grade readers will sympathize with Clementine's conflicted feelings about her friend and her family, and laugh out loud at her impulsive antics, narrated in a fresh first-person voice and illustrated with plenty of humor. - Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2024My 5 and 8 year old love this book. It has Junie B. Jones and Dory Fantasmagory vibes, which are also some of their favorites.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2017My then seven-year-old niece ran up to me one day and asked in an urgent tone if I had read Clementine. Confused and thinking of the fruit, I hesitatingly said, “No?” She ran off and returned seconds later, thrusting the book into my hands. She insisted I read it. I’m so glad I did!
Clementine is laugh out loud hilarious! I read the whole series within a week or so. It’s Junie B. Jones-ish, but on a higher reading level with a little more complex issues.
Now I read the first in the series with my fourth graders, and many of the kids will continue the series on their own.
Sometimes when the kids are reading to themselves, I’ll hear someone laugh out loud. I will glance over and often see that they are reading Clementine, and I will think back to that day my niece insisted I read this delightful book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2024Clementine is a heartwarming tale that captivates from start to finish. The protagonist's spunky personality and relatable challenges make for an engaging read. With its blend of humor and genuine emotion, this book is a delightful journey for readers of all ages.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2022My daughter has struggled with reading and had no stamina to attempt a chapter book. The Clementine series has opened up the world of reading to her and we are SO grateful! She's always so excited to tell me what she read, and she can't wait to get the next book as soon as she finished the previous one. Clementine is very relatable to her and the book is written so well...engaging but not too long or confusing for young and/or struggling readers.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2024Was a gift- was really appreciated.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2017My daughter and I are making our way through the series. We enjoyed this one as it gave us lots of opportunities to make emotional connections.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2012Clementine is one of those kids who don't seem to be looking for trouble, but it finds her anyway. She's busy paying attention to the world around her, but not necessarily in a way that makes the grown-ups who surround her happy. My daughter found her ongoing internal conversation very funny and I heard her laugh out loud multiple times while reading this book. Clementine is bright, funny and spunky without being rude or snarky. The style reminds me a bit of the Roscoe Riley books for the younger set and is equally as charming.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2020My great granddaughter starts 3rd grade this year and she can read this book herself. I got it for her 8th birthday but will buy the rest of the series for Christmas. She carries it around with her. I wish there was a Clementine doll to go with the books. I remember Nancy Drew books when I was growing up so I am glad this generation has Clementine!
