'It represents the effort of everybody working here': Nuno Espirito Santo celebrates Manager of the Month prize with 14-man Wolves backroom team

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has celebrated winning the Premier League Manager of the Month award for September with his entire backroom team.

The newly-promoted side went undefeated for the entirety of last month, taking 10 points from a possible 12.

Wolves defeated West Ham, Burnley and Southampton, as well as claiming an invaluable point against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

They have also set a Premier League record for naming the same starting 11 for the first eight matches of a season, and Nuno was joined in receiving the prize by the club's medical staff as well as his coaching team.


Alongside his team of coaches he invited Richard Kirby, Tom Male, Rui Fuste, Phil Hayward, Dr Matthew Perry, Oliver Leaper, Matthew Wignall and Danny Fishwick to collect the award.

Nuno said: 'It represents the effort of everybody working here in Compton, everyone at Molineux, our fans, the players, everybody.

'There's no individual prizes in football, everything comes from the team. Everybody is in the pack.'

Espirito Santo managed to beat off competition from Unai Emery of Arsenal, Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

He also received his award from Hannah Parker, Wolves' Premier League Primary Stars champion, from Lanesfield Primary School.

Santo also admitted his squad have a tough run of fixtures after the international break, adding: 'I think we are doing ok. I think we started last season building, knowing that this year would be a different challenge and the answer of the players has been really good, but we know that there is a long way to go yet.

'September was no doubt a very good month for us, tough games, I think before going away from international break it meant a lot.'
