I decided to purchase these LED light strips because I noticed a lot of my friends were using LED light strips for their desktop setups and I loved the way they looked.
These seemed to be one of the more cheaper brands of LED light strips but they certainly do their job well.
The installation wasn't too bad. There were 3 parts to link together: the lights (with a 4-pin connector), the control box, and a power adapter. All I had to do was link all three parts together and stick the LEDs onto something.
The LED strip itself is super long, it's more LEDs than I'll ever need. I stuck my LEDs right behind the monitor on my desk and it gives a nice glow effect against my wall. There's a remote included in the box so you can change your lights to red, green, blue, white, or a mixture between two of the colors. There's also some other features I've found on the remote like creating a fade effect, flashing, dimming, and "DIY" buttons. The DIY buttons are a bit disappointing because I'm not entirely sure how to program the DIY buttons. There's no user manual that tells you how to configure it. However, I don't really see myself tinkering with the LEDs too much so it's not a big deal. One of my other small gripes about the LEDs is that the power adapter for them is fairly bulky. It's not a huge deal since I have enough power outlets to accommodate it, but it may be an issue if I were trying to fit it on a power strip that had other cables plugged in.
Overall, it suits my needs and the drawbacks are pretty insignificant. Can't really complain, it's a good product.

It mostly works, but not great
It works, but there are problems.First, the colors are not that great. In addition to this kit, I also ordered an econoLED non-waterproof strip. The non-waterproof strip has the red, green, and blue lights combined in each light unit, which produced a much more accurate light. The strip that came with this kit has the three colors separated and spread apart, as you can see in the picture. From a distance they meld together, so they work fine if you're using them under a shelf or desk, like I am. I had planned to use them around the edge of my desk and shelves against the wall, but the result was a bunch of red, green, and blue lights projected against the wall instead of the color I was wanting.Second, the controls are not correct. The remote that came with this kit has DIY buttons, but there does not seem to be any way to program them. What is really strange is that the default setting for the DIY buttons is a purer white than the white button produces, but it cannot be dimmed. The result is that the DIY buttons are basically useless.Third, the strips are delicate. When I first got the kit, I began installing the strip behind my shelf against the wall. When I turned it on and saw that it was not going to work because of the color problem I mentioned above, I began pulling it out of the position (I did not have it taped, it was just sitting in a channel between the shelf and wall) and it broke in half under hardly any strain in a place where it was lightly wedged in. The material the strip that came with this kit, as well as the other strip I bought, both seem very delicate.

This light set was just perfect for illuminating behind my TV. I have a 55" flat screen tv and this set covered it perfectly with about 20" to spare. They adhere well to the back of the tv (make its cleaned and dry). They have been up for a little over a week and are perfectly in place. The only thing I would wish to change is that the strip be black instead of white to match the back of my tv and a way to make it easier to go around the corner of the tv.
I really enjoy the different color choices and patterns. I like the white and yellow for soft lighting. The colors are great for holidays and on Sundays we turn to green for our Philadelphia Eagles. The lights can be set to solid or there are different lighting patterns to choose from and the ability to make your own up. The remote is easy to work and navigate but it does have to be pointed directly at the power supply which for me is only an issue because I keep that hidden and out of the way behind the tv. I will definitely be purchasing more for other areas in my home as well as my front window area for holiday display.

I'm really glad I got this light strip. It has tons of settings. You can set the color specifically, or you can have it cycle through the colors, flashing or fading, set the brightness, pretty much anything you'd want to do with these lights. They make a great light during the night time when I don't want too strong of a light but I want to be able to see my way around the room. I actually have another set of lights on my TV and the remote for that strip isn't as big and doesn't have as many settings, so I'm definitely impressed by this one. These are also much longer. And here's the kicker: the light strip I bought for my TV was the same price as these, but at about 1/3 the length, and half of the functionality. These are definitely worth the money.
