Our client is one of the major market leaders in the fresh produce industry and due to continued expansion, they are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join the team.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing the production facility and ensuring that targets are met while maintaining cost and customer service levels. You will also need to demonstrate continuous improvement of production facility, equipment and systems performance.
The general areas you will be responsible for are Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene and quality, while liaising with the relevant managers for these departments.
Accountabilities:
Efficiency/accuracy – KPI reports, ensuring systems in place to capture waste/discrepancies, ensuring the cleaning schedule is adhered to
Productivity/planning – maximising productivity through good organisation, managing volumes and staffing levels
Product specification – ensuring products are despatched in line with product specification
Administration – ensuring agency/own staff are checked and signed, correct work wear is available and worn
People – disciplinary procedures, timekeeping, communication
Hygiene and housekeeping – all areas are audited and remedial action taken
H&S – policies are adhered to, staff are briefed, report machine faults
The ideal candidate will have a proven background in the Fresh Produce Industry; have strong communication skills and the willingness and ability to learn. This role will suit someone looking to progress their career and develop their skills. Experience of upskilling and training team will be a distinct advantage.
