Our client is one of the leaders in the fresh produce industry and due to continued business expansion they are looking for a procurement assistant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone to continue their career development within the industry and show their abilities and competences for buying fresh produce.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting in to the Commercial Manager, the role will be to assist the buying process, sourcing certain raw materials, negotiating prices and volumes, calling the product in when it is required and generally helping the buying team in the delivery of their goals. You will be required to liaise with multiple members within the commercial team ensure all queries are appropriately dealt with. Furthermore, the role will involve managing the stock whilst maintain the procurement matrix to adequate levels.
Key Accountabilities:
• Liaising with suppliers to arrange best purchases
• Ensuring that purchased products meet the company’s expectations and specifications
• Assisting procurement managers in ensuring efficiency and maximising product life
• Assisting in achieving forecasts and budgets
Criteria:
• Minimum 3 years buying experience in Fresh Produce/Food Manufacturing
• Good communication skills
• Confidence in liaising with suppliers
• Ambitious
• Driven
