Associate Director, IT Finance

Associate Director, IT Finance

Location:  Los Angeles, California


Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all financial aspects of enterprise-wide technology deals, including licensing, payments, terms, etc., working with vendors where necessary
  • Calculates, communicates and manages the internal business unit charge back of enterprise-wide Technology initiatives
  • Prepares ad hoc analyses and performs special projects for executive management on request
  • Assist with instruction, training, and formal performance evaluations for financial analyst staff
  • Acts as proxy for Executive Director, when required
  • Actively identifies, implements and monitors process improvement activities
Annual Budgeting Process
  • Manages the annual enterprise-wide technology budget consolidation effort, including:
    • Developing the master budget template
    • Serving as point person and communicating directly w/key technology and finance staff at each of the business units
    • Incorporating all business unit responses into the master technology budget
    • Preparing ad-hoc analyses on the consolidated budget, as needed
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual IT plan package documents for distribution to IT business units
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual budget for the FNG business unit, as needed
  • Performs accurate and insightful variance analyses with ease
  • Prepares executive management presentation materials, as needed
Quarterly Forecasting Process
  • Participates in the preparation of the quarterly forecast
  • Participates in performing variance analyses and executive management presentation materials
  • Participates in forecast review meetings with IT management and/or Shared Service customers
Reporting & Other
  • Ensures all technology deal reporting is handled with internal customers and with vendors
  • Assists with customer-centric reporting of quarterly forecast changes that affect allocations
  • Participates in monthly, quarterly & year-end close processes, as needed
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
 
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
Experience
  • Minimum 7 years financial accounting experience
  • Proven track record successfully managing financial budgets in a complex, diverse and challenging business environment
  • Proven ability to lead and effectively participate in executive meetings, including presentations and status reports
  • Experience in implementing basic accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and how they are applied
  • Strong understanding of best practice accounting policies and procedures
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel proficiency required), and presentation tools
  • Experience in the Information Technology industry or familiarity with technology contracts, is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with SOX 404 guidelines
