Outlook is an ad-supported product for free users. In Outlook, ads appear alongside messages in your inbox. They are distinguished from your messages with an Ad label.
Note: If you're seeing unwanted marketing emails in your inbox that aren't marked with "Ad" please refer to the topics on spam emails. While Outlook offers spam filtering on all accounts, we don't control what emails are sent to your email address.
These ads are provided by Microsoft and our 3rd party advertising partners in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. If you have a Microsoft Account you can control what data Microsoft uses to show you ads under the advertising page on the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard. If you opt out of ad targeting you will not see fewer ads, but the ads may be less relevant to you.
You can avoid seeing ads across all Outlook apps and recieve other great features by subscribing to Microsoft 365 Personal or Family. Users with a current subscription won't see ads.
If you have a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription tied to your account you won't see ads in Outlook for iOS, Android, and Mac. If you believe you have a paid subscription, please make sure the email address you used to purchase that subscription has been added as an account in Outlook. You can also visit https://account.microsoft.com/services to view the status of your subscription and ensure it hasn't expired.
Your ad-free subscription benefits apply automatically for all Outlook.com accounts, including those ending in outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com, and msn.com. They also apply automatically for Gmail accounts.
