An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading name in the fresh produce industry at their site based in Lincolnshire.
My client is looking for an engineer with strong organisational and planning skills who will be responsible for the building, grounds and general equipment involving fault finding, and remedial work. You will be responsible for monitoring reactive and scheduled contractual work, and manage the awareness of and adherence to Health & Safety legislation. Key responsibilities of the role are
;
• Liaising with the General Site Manager and Compliance Manager to co-ordinate maintenance and repair work.
• Assist with planning and implementing site and plan improvements and expansions.
• Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems.
• Maintain stock for parts and maintenance supplies and equipment and initiate re-ordering when necessary.
• Prioritise, cost and respond to requests for improvement work.
• Cost all works, obtain authorisation and budget approval in advance of work proceeding.
• Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follows up on any deficiencies.
• Undertake routine safety inspections in line with internal audit procedures liaising with site Compliance Manager.
• Ensure that all contractors are aware of and observe site Health & Safety regulations and Food Safety rules.
The ideal engineer for this position will have a good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and quality control, and have experience of food manufacturing processes and packaging equipment. You will need to have maintenance management experience and a valid Health & Safety qualification (e.g; NEBOSH, ISO18001, COSHH, HACCP)
