What a great weekend at Mid-America this past weekend.  On Friday night, we ran round seven of the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Series, and then on Saturday, we ran round eight of the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Series along with our regular classes including our Speedway Shootout which saw Barry Benkert Jr, take home $500 from Mid-America, and Scott Perry from Braap City Digital kicked in $100 to make for a $600 payday.  We have already requested to be a part of the 2019 AMA Vintage Dirt Track Nationals, and have tentatively scheduled it for the first Friday/Saturday in August.

Our next event is this Saturday, August 11th which is the makeup date for the 2018 Astro Cup and also Open Quad Night which is another first for us where we are putting up $500 to win the Open Quad Class, and Joe Stahl from JLS Motorsports is putting up an additional $500 to the winner.

The Open Quad main will run ten riders, and twelve laps, and we are following the AMA rule book.

Remember that the top three finishers in the Astro Cup that never held a national number will be invited to the 2018 Astro Invitational at the Springfield Short track which will be televised on Fans Choice and NBC Sports.

LBR Films posted their video from the July 28th race which focused on the 50cc Classes, but they also included footage from other classes as well.  Here is the link to the video.  It is also posted on the  Mid-America Facebook page as well.

After the Astro Cup/Quad Shootout, t he MAS crew then gets a much deserved week off after running four races in three weekends, but it will be a short break as we go green two weeks later on August 25th for Vet 30+ Night where we will bonus the Vet 30+ winner $100.

September starts off with Super Sr. 60+ night with a $100 bonus to the winner, and a $50 bonus to the oldest rider starting the 60+ Main event.  September concludes with a $100/cylinder bonus going to the winner of Vintage Heavy on September 29.

Next on the schedule is 250 Money Night on October 6th, with $500 going to the winner of the 250 Money class.  October 20th is Vintage light night, and the 2018 season concludes on October 27th at our 10th annual Halloween race with $500 going to the winner of the Open bike class.  The 2018 Awards Banquet will be two weeks later on November 10th at the Sunshine Bowling Center in Clermont, IN
