Lace up your running shoes to compete in the third Kudzu Trail Race at Historic Brattonsville! Sponsored by Nate Mallard-The Home Team and Schiller & Hamilton law firm, the race is set for Saturday, Nov. 13.

Offering both 5K and 8K routes that take you through the beautiful and rugged trails near Hightower Hall, the race starts at 1036 Brattonsville Rd., McConnells, SC. The 8K is a bit challenging and presents a few obstacles. The 5K route is suitable for families with kids age 8 and older. Runners with the best times in certain categories will receive cash prizes.

All registered participants aged 13 and older will get a medal upon completing the course. Children ages 8 through 12 may race at no cost with a registered adult running buddy and will receive a completion button. Registered runners will start at 8:30 a.m. and children with running buddies will start at 8:35 a.m. After the race, runners along with their friends and family are encouraged to visit Historic Brattonsville. Registered runners will get in for free. 

Registration, which includes a T-shirt and race bag, is $30 until Saturday, Nov. 6, and $35 thereafter. Online registration ends at midnight, Thursday, Nov. 11. Onsite race-day registration begins at 7 a.m. You will be able to see finish times and winners within an hour of the last finisher. This event will take place rain or shine, and if canceled, there will be no refunds. 

• Early-bird registration until Saturday, Nov. 6- 5K $30, 8K $30 
• Online registration ends at midnight, Thursday, Nov. 11
• Day-of registration begins at 7 p.m.- 5K $35, 8K $35

Friday, Nov. 12 schedule:
• 3 to 7 p.m. Packet pick up at Museum of York County, 4621 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC.

Saturday, Nov. 13 schedule:
• 7 a.m. day-of registration opens
• 8:30 a.m. musket start adults
• 8:35 a.m. musket start kids with running buddies
• 11 a.m. trail closes
