Central Park NYC Saturday May 19, 2018 OBS: Robert DeCandido, PhD, m.ob. Highlights: Moderate rain throughout the morning. Birding was best from the Delacorte Theater along the west side of the Great Lawn to the Pinetum, with insects from a hatch-out at the Pinetum drifting into other areas. Twenty-one Species of Wood Warblers this morning included eight Bay-breasted Warblers and twelve Blackburnian Warblers. Swallows were numerous, especially Barn Swallow (75). Also counted Cliff Swallow (2), Tree Swallow (6), and Northern Rough-winged Swallow (4).
