1970 2.2 S motor for sale
I bought this 3 years ago as a motor for my 67' sunroof. Well, that car was stolen last year and while I'd hoped to find a replacement, personal reasons dictate that will never happen. As such, I need to sell this motor. It's a 1970 "S" motor; was freshened by another pelican member "Rennsport" (who was the gentleman I bought it from). Build included new oil pump, chains, rollers, bearings, guides, rings, bearings, seals and hardware. The motor had 68k on it when it was pulled 13 years ago. Seller mag'd and mic'd the crank, case, pistons, etc and found them within spec. Photos attached are when I received the motor- I couldn't stand the red fan so it had to be repainted. I had also noticed the original alternator had some "boogers" on the thread, so I purchased a new alternator. I never got back to putting the fan or alternator back on but that's how I'm selling it (3 hour job if you are slow). Fan shroud needs paint retouched where I applied too much clear coat. Sale includes the motor, original MFI, wires (two sets- on on the motor, one in the box), belly pan, heat exchangers *which are serviceable but not in keeping with the rest of the motor IMO and uninstalled carerra tensioners (the originals are on the motor now). No flywheel, ignition or coil. Motor did not come with airfilter assembly. I am including a set of K&N Aluminum filter sets along with chrome velocity stacks (I think the bunch cost me $600)- other than that, it should be good to go.
Numbers- Block 6302190 (star) MFI- (on top; 02439209) (on bottom; 048 126 009) I will update some additional photos this evening with zooms of the numbers. I know I have a little over $10k in this motor. I need to sell ASAP; asking $9700 shipped in the lower 48 states. If AK, HI or out of country, will credit $300 to your shipping cost. Will ship in a custom crate. I have many posts/sales here and have over 100+ positive feedbacks on Ebay under "dogslovetrucks". I wish I could keep this motor and use it, but again, it ain't going to happen. Hoping it will find a good home. Jason *The pic attached is before I removed the fan. Will take additional pics and email on request. |

Motor is not sold and is not on Ebay; I noted my 100% positive feedback on Ebay as a reference to possible buyers. As a side note, I will be posting additional pictures this evening.

Photos and additional notes:
In looking at the lower valve covers, they are for a dual spark set up (not original). They do look good however. Included in the sale are all the parts shown in the 1st few sets of photos- they include: Plugs (in boxes), wires (fitted only), coil (fitted only), fuel filter, original alternator and new alternator, hot air tube, carerra kit with covers, belts (one old, one new), original wiring harness- I don't want to go long here- if it's in the picture, it comes with the motor. To clarify- the motor was build/freshened in 2008. I believe that this is a plug and go set up. Note regarding the K&N filter set up; the barometric cell on the "s" protrudes into the filter area. It fits, but is not a nice set up. I have seen some aftermarket set ups that do away with the cell and use a fixed pin instead. The fan housing is painted but needs redone. The fan is primed and ready for paint. To answer a few questions- The distributor is included as is a new cap and rotor. I do not have the flywheel, original air filter canister or ignition. Photos should show that there are no broken cooling fins (at least none I can see). Again, please feel free to PM any additional questions. Thanks- Jason Last edited by dogslovetrucks; 04-05-2010 at 08:22 PM.. |
