Spelling Bee contestant pulled off spelling's equivalent of a bat flip to 'mogollon'

Shourav Dasari, an 8th grader from Spring, Texas, didn’t win Thursday’s National Spelling Bee, but he absolutely had the coolest moment.

Asked to spell the word “mogollon,” Dasari didn’t need any time before firing off the correct spelling and walking back to his seat before the judges could even give the ruling. This kid knew he spelled it right and needed no outside validation. It was essentially the spelling equivalent of a Jose Bautista bat flip.

It doesn’t get any cooler than that. There’s confidence, and then there’s Shourav Dasari.

Dasari spelled 10 straight words correctly before getting knocked out on the word, “struldbrug.”

But spelling fans will always have that moment, which was way more entertaining than Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
