CrossFit FMTG CrossFit FMTG is a new fitness business in Vanuatu that has been operating since October
2019 as an affiliate under CrossFit Inc. We provide opportunities for CrossFit functional
training and coaching for adults and children. We run CrossFit classes for all ranges of
fitness abilities for adults, kids, pre-teens and teens.
We also provide strength and conditioning training opportunities for Vanuatu national
athletes through the various Vanuatu sporting federations.
Duties and
Responsibilitie
s
A CrossFit Trainer is required to lead, instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in
exercise activities, including cardiovascular exercise, gymnastics movements, strength
training, and stretching. There is a requirement to work with people of all ages and skill
levels in the conduct of these activities.
Specific Duties are:
Plan individual and group CrossFit classes for adolescents and adults with
international programming support
Setup of CrossFit sessions
Conduct general and specific warm-ups
Demonstrate how to conduct various exercises and routines
Provide corrective techniques for individual clients as part of group sessions
Provide scaling exercises during workouts or classes for different levels of fitness
and skill
Clean up of fitness sessions
Monitor clients’ progress and provide individual feedback
Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations on sports, recreational activities,
and the use of exercise equipment within a facility and in surrounding areas
Give clients general information or resources about nutrition, weight control, and
lifestyle issues
Give emergency first aid if needed
Additional duties may include:
Handling cash payment for casual members,

Advising potential clients on membership deals and classes,
Conducting basic anthropometric assessments,
Capacity building of future CrossFit trainers, and
Giving tours of the gym facility.
Period of
Employment
October 2020 ongoing (dependant on permits and affiliation)
The instructor would be required to work for a minimum of 15 hours per week across 5 –
6 days per week with opportunity for additional class and personal training hours based
on demand, with associated set up and clean-up requirements. Timings are flexible.
Detailed international programming support for kids and adults’ classes will be provided
by the company.
Qualifications
& Experience
Qualifications
Essential:
CrossFit Level 1 Certification
CrossFit Kids Certification
Desirable:
Valid certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) issued by recognised
training institution
Certificate Level III Group Fitness Certification (Not required for initial
employment)
Working with Children Certification (or similar)
For any specialist training provided, specialist training certificates or qualification should
be held. Examples of this are:
Certificate Level 4 - Personal Training
Gymnastic Level Certification
Strength and Conditioning Level certification
Kettlebell Level Certification
Olympic Weightlifting Certification
Suspension Training
Adaptive Training
Experience
The following is considered essential experience:
5 years’ experience being involved in, or teaching, CrossFit classes with adults
3 years’ experience teaching CrossFit to kids.
Planning and running CrossFit events
Judging CrossFit events
Qualities CrossFit Trainers should also possess the following specific qualities:
