Birding Sites - Where To Watch BirdsAs well as celebrating the "local patch", the Nottingham RSPB Local Group organises trips every month to various parts of the UK. This section lists some of these locations so that you can see what Nottingham has to offer, or find out what you're letting yourself in for on a trip!
NottinghamshireSome of the best sites in Nottinghamshire are:
RecommendationsAttenborough is large, easy to get to, and known for its rarities; Lound and Hoveringham are also of interest to serious birders. Colwick, Holme Pierrepont and Netherfield are all fairly close together, making for a good multi-site day. For the more casual birder, perhaps one with a family in tow, Sherwood Forest is a good day out. Wollaton Park is also highly recommended, especially as it is so easy to get to.
UK SitesThe group has a full itinerary of trips, with at least one organised trip to a reserve around the country per month. Some of these sites will be added here so that you can see what to expect from upcoming trips.
