BATTLE ON!

Arena:
Arena: The Earth Cauldron
Field Type: Ground
Complexity: Moderate
Format: Singles

Restrictions: No weather except Sandstorm, Artificial Field, Limited Ceiling, No Water Source, Rocks must be obtained through digging

Description: At the entrance, there is a staircase you must climb. The case spirals around a circular column, about 20 metres high & 30 metres in diameter. At the top, there is a circular arena. The entrance is shut & is replaced by guardrails 10 metres high, which encircle the arena. you see a rectangular field, 20x15 metres in dimension, the rectangle consisting of some sand & some painted lines. Outside the rectangle is hard rock-like material that cannot be dug into, but the sand is, but only to a certain depth. There also may be loose rocks in the sand as well, only accessible by digging. When a seismic-based move is used, sand will come flinging up from the rectangle, & all Pokemon that is not immune to Sandstorm that is within the confinements of the Cauldron will suffer an accuracy drop of 1 stage. The arena is also rather sturdy, allowing seismic activity to occur. Flying Pokemon also have the ability to fly out of the cauldron, over the guardrails & out of range from most attacks. Lastly, the arena is indoors, so the only weather that can occur is Sandstorm. This arena got its name, due to the fact that it clearly suits Ground-Types & for it's Cauldron-like appearance.

Summary: Circular arena, 30 metres in diameter, surrounded by 10 metre high guardrails. The centre of the arena consists of a rectangle, 20 metres long, 15 metres wide, the rectangle consisting of diggable sand & painted lines, the outside of the rectangle consists of hard, undiggable rock. Sturdy enough for seismic activity to occur. Loose rocks present in the diggable sand, Sand flings up dropping the accuracy of Pokemon susceptible to Sandstorm by 1 stage when a seismic move is used, Flyers can fly out of the cauldron, & the only weather that can occur is Sandstorm.

TYPE
Ground: Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 3 per action Energy Cost to 2 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.
Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

ABILITIES
Hyper Cutter: (Innate) This Pokemon always keeps its claws/teeth/pincers extremely sharp, and thus cannot have its attack reduced.
Sand Veil: (Innate) This Pokemon is used to reacting in desert conditions and gets a 20% evasion boost during Sandstorms. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Poison Heal (DW Unlocked): (Innate) Pokemon with this ability have internal structures that absorb the toxins in poison and uses them to recover two (2) HP/action instead of taking poison damage. Their Toxic counter will still go up should their ability be disabled.

LightWolf:

Reuniclus [Greed] (M)

Nature: Quiet (+SpA -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)

Type:

Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:

Magic Guard: (Innate) This Pokemon is infused with a powerful psycho-electric energy that makes it immune to damage from Hail, Sandstorm, and damage from Leech Seed, Poisoning, and Burn. It can still attack itself in confusion, but will not absorb any damage from it. Additionally, the energy protects the Pokemon from its own reckless recoil attacks.
Overcoat: (Innate) This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1).
Regenerator: (Innate) (DW) When this Pokemon is switched out during a switch battle, it reacts to the energy in the Pokeball and (ten) 10 HP is restored. When this Pokemon Chills, it restores six (6) HP in addition to its 12 Energy.

No items, he'd just Knock it Off. Well his choice could have been worse for me(damn me I should have brought my Marshtomp even though he isn't FE...), but at least it's not a dark or ghost type.

Psychic ~ Shadow Ball ~ Psychic
If Taunt is used, replace your action with Protect, but only once and push back actions
If Taunt isn't used on action 2, change that action to Trick Room and the following action to Psychic

Hi there we're in an incredibly biased and unrealistic Gym concept where Its_A_Random's Gliscor, Capers will face off with LightWolf's Reuniclus, Greed!

Capers starts off the battle strong with an Earthquake that does some moderate damage! Greed is able to connect with a Psychic blow and follow up with a Protect that shields itself from Capers's gross Taunt! Finally, Capers kicks up more damage with a second Earthquake, to which Greed responds with a Shadow Ball for variety!

--------------------

Action 1:

Gliscor: Earthquake (15 damage, -6 energy, crit fails)
Reuniclus: Psychic (16 damage, -5 energy, crit fails, SpD drop fails)

Action 2:

Reuniclus: Protect (-7 energy)
Gliscor: Taunt (fails, -10 energy)

Action 3:

Gliscor: Earthquake (15 damage, -6 energy, crit fails)
Reuniclus: Shadow Ball (12 damage, -6 energy, crit fails, SpD drop fails)

I know that IAR didn't intend the arena to be this way, but nowhere does it specify that the mon has to be immune to Sandstorm due to it's type.(I have two abilities for that even)

It's up to you Korski how you decide to ref this, but I wanted to make sure this is considered(and that IAR fixes this, we don't want Magic Guard mons having an easy time in your gym)

You know what, it does say the accuracy drops apply to pokes who are "susceptible to sandstorm," so I guess you're right, since Reuniclus is in no way susceptible to Sandstorm damage. I'll fix that, and good catch, thanks. Maybe IAR could think that over a bit (also figure out how these Acc drops stack and decay, because I had to think a bit on the fairest way to do it).

Technically, Reuniclus is susceptible to sandstorm, due to typing, but his abilities make it immune to Sandstorm, therefore, Reuniclus doesn't suffer the Accuracy drop. The description only says it affects those who are not immune to sandstorm, so Lightwolf is correct.

"Good job Capers, time to build up some pressure. Open this stanza with a 20 HP Substitute to throw up a status barrier, though you would rather be poisoned...Continue the job with another Earthquake, & finish up with an X-Scissor. If Greed sees this as an opportunity to either A: Set up Trick Room, or B: Recover, counter with a Taunt, pushing back if Earthquake is subbed, but once only, remember that now!"

Substitute (20 HP) > Earthquake > X-Scissor
(Once Only) IF Trick Room OR Recover, THEN Taunt, pushing actions back ONLY IF Earthquake is subbed.

EDIT: Also, it seems you didn't factor in Razor Fang. Please fix.

Snatch is one of the most dangerous moves in the game, as exhibited by Greed, who Snatches away Capers's Subsititute! Now Capers has to destroy Greed's Substitute, which it cannot do with one measly Earthquake, meaning Greed is free to attack with Psychic from safety! Capers finally breaks the sub with an X-Scissor, but after a repeat Psychic attack, Capers finds himself way behind!

--------------------

Action 1:

Reuniclus: Snatch (-8 energy, Gliscor's Substitute Snatched)
Gliscor: Substitute [20 HP] (-20 HP, -18 energy)

Action 2:

Gliscor: Earthquake (15 damage [Substitute], -6 energy)
Reuniclus: Psychic (16 damage, -5 energy, crit fails, SpD drop fails)

"Well, this is not a good situation, Capers! However, our opponent has seemingly gotten overconfident! Begin this stanza to use U-Turn, striking Reuniclus & using the momentum to fly out of the cauldron & out of harm's way, thanks mostly to the attacks of Greed effectively failing to pierce the confinements. Then I want you to abuse this time to take a rest. Put yourself out of sight of Greed & Chill Twice. This will buy us a few free actions, that's for sure, as Greed will probably just aimlessly use attacks & have no idea where we are."

U-Turn, using momentum to fly outside the cauldron > Perch yourself on a staircase, out of Greed's sight & Chill > Chill

According to the biased Arena, Gliscor is indeed allowed to "fly out of the cauldron, over the guardrails & out of range from most attacks," which is pretty ludicrous if you ask me! I am using my ref discretion to say that Gliscor can only Chill while hidden and evading attacks like this.

--------------------

Action 1:

Gliscor: U-turn (13 damage, -5 energy, stat drops reset)
Reuniclus: Energy Ball (10 damage, -6 energy)

Have you been rolling for Razor Fang's flinch chance?

"Ok...Well, you're on the other side of the rails & all we can do now is...well...stall. So let's bore everyone to death & stall from the other side. At least Greed can see us."

Taunt > Roost > Rest

IF Protect A1, THEN Swap A1 with A2
IF Greed randomly finds a way to get over the Guardrails, THEN U-Turn back into the Cauldron next action & push actions back.

IAR, unless I understood him wrong, but Korski said you could only like Chill while evading attacks like that.

Either way, if I can see you to get Taunted, I should be able to hit you! Also I'm Psychic, duh.
