Baseball fans can catch some Red Sox fever at McDonald’s on South Main Street in Middletown.

The restaurant is teaming up with the New Britain Red Sox and radio station WCNX (AM 1150) in a contest and promotion for the team.

Children who submit drawings of things associated with baseball will have their pictures autographed by team members.

Anyone of any age can enter an essay contest by describing his or her “Best Moment in Baseball,” either as a player, fan or spectator. Winning entries will receive a pair of tickets to a ball game at Beehive Field, and the entry will be read on the air during a game.

The restaurant already sponsors a Little League team, so pairing up with the pros seemed natural. Besides, manager Mike Ryan of Madison has been a baseball fan all his life. He said he’s too old to play – he’s 40 – but he manages a Little League team in his hometown.

Entry forms are available at the counter. Ryan said everyone will win something.
