AN OLD railway station building on the Speyside Way has been put up for sale.
Cromdale Station opened in 1863 and was in operation for just over 100 years as part of the Strathspey Railway.
The single-platform station was closed to passengers in 1965 and to goods in 1968, when it was converted into a private house.
The main purpose of Cromdale Station was to service the many distilleries in the region. Cromdale had a reasonably sized goods yard for whisky traffic and a private line to the local distillery at Balmenach.
Property agent Galbraith said the one-storey station’s external appearance remained "true to its original purpose and Great North of Scotland design".
A restored railway carriage built at the Inverurie Works in 1916 sits behind the platform. The carriage – known as the camping coach – is used as a holiday let. Although the outside of the vehicle has been completely re-skinned, the original steel sub-frame and oak body framing have been preserved.
Cromdale Station is for sale through Galbraith at offers over £255,000.
