Do you find yourself on the brink of a new level of life, but never get past a certain point to break through? Somehow you always end up in the same place you are comfortable with or what seems normal.

I just got off a call with John Assaraf, expert on business development and even the quantum physics behind success. Yes, there is a science behind wealth and personal success.

“Our outside reality matches our inside reality.”

Two major points I got:

  1. We have all heard of the Law of Attraction. What you give your time, energy & focus to, is what you’ll attract into your life. Do you always attract the wrong people into your life? Stop saying so! Begin to think and believe that you are a magnet for great people into your life. And start speaking it. Yes, sometimes you have to lie to yourself until you believe the lie, then it becomes a reality. It worked for me. I always tell myself, “I am the most positive person I know.” Ask my friends.
  2. The last six letters of attraction is.. ACTION. It’s important to, while knowing that you can achieve your goals through rational lying (I’m too busy to make phone calls today). Take action. If you’re not doing something about it, you’re not giving it your attention, energy & focus.

Law of Attraction, faith with action.

There are some great resources brought to you by Mr. Assaraf himself. This is not for skeptics. Check out www.i-grasshopper.com for some computer and iPhone Apps that will help you and your brain on a quantum level make your goals & dreams and reality.

One final thought on this topic. We only get what we are ready to receive. It’s another concept of the law of attraction. Make yourself capable of having a bigger positive impact on the lives around you and it will become a reality. Just tell yourself, “I enhance the lives of everyone around me!”

Lisa Nichols has changed my world yesterday.

As a part of a business community that embodies serving each other and the world at large, I am blessed to constantly be surrounded by mentors and the most inspiring people alive today.

Entrepreneurs, parents, friends, employees, managers, spouses, business owners, even kids… everyone is in a place in their lives to serve. Kids learn to share, businesses provide a product or service, spouses give themselves intimately, friends give their time and listen, parents give their lives to raise healthy, loving people who can contribute something great to society, strangers hold doors for someone whose hands are full…

No matter who we are to anyone, we are here to serve. And a huge lesson in life, that the universe tries to teach us, is that we can’t serve from what we lack. If we’re sick in bed because we didn’t take care of our bodies, how are we going to share our gift of music performance? If you’re emotionally drained, how can you lend your ear to a friend when their girlfriend just broke up with them?

Lisa Nichols shared a concept that will change the way I live my life forever. Serve from the saucer. It’s easy to serve when your cup is empty, half-full. Mothers do it all the time and burn themselves out. People burn out even when they serve from a full-cup. But what about serving from overflow? That way, you can constantly give without depletion.

Fill your cup with quiet time in the presence of God, fill it with something that gives you peace like nature photography or writing in your journal. Get a massage, eat healthy foods, exercise. Be open to receiving. That one is big, because sometimes we choose to serve from our lacking cup because of pride. Receiving from others, whether it’s help, a gift or receiving any kind of service with gratitude is an act of humility. And it’s a very, very good thing. It also allows others to serve. And it’s a circle of paying it forward that makes this world as a whole a better place to live. While “an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” (Mahatma Gandhi), paying it forward, giving from an overflow of receiving makes the whole world fuller.

If you want to change the world, begin with yourself.

Today when on a call with my business community, we reflected on the call, and were reminded of Martin Latulippe who is a luminary on our Discovery Series home study personal transformational system. He reminded us of the importance of airplane safety, when the oxygen masks are released, place your mask on your face first, so that you can then assist others.

Take care of yourself first so you can take care of the greater good of those around you. Nurture your gifts, so that you can enhance others lives. Be filled with gratitude, goodness and joy – and in your overflow, serve. Live that life of gratitude and service.

Are you placing yourself in an environment that is conducive to your growth? How can you humbly receive more to be able to give more from your overflow?

Well, if you’d like to connect with my community, become a fan on Facebook and you’ll get updates on the weekly calls we have with epic people from Greg S. Reid (author of Three Feet From Gold), Mike Robbins (baseball star and author of Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken), Dr. Judith Orloff (author of Second Sight and Emotional Freedom).

LeBron James, Miami Heat. Robert Kiyosaki called it on a Facebook post this past Wednesday, “Everyone’s asking me where I think LeBron is going to end up. There are two things that are important here: Winning and money. You get money in Cleveland but no winning. You can win and get money in Miami. Miami has no state income tax, so LeBron gets more money there than NY or Chicago. Enjoy Miami LeBron.”

How did he read LeBron’s mind? Honestly, it’s because he understood LeBron and where he was coming from: “Winning and money.” When you know your client’s desires, that’s when you can give them what they want. Bottom line, Mr. Kiyosaki could have “sold” the Heat to LeBron if circumstances called for that. Let me explain. It’s a fact: people like to buy, but they don’t like being sold.

So in sales, what makes people want to buy and how can anyone in a sales type role get people to buy without selling?

Most people are not comfortable pushing a product on anyone. Convincing someone to buy something they don’t need is not an entirely rewarding experience. Luckily, as a recruiter by profession (now a full-time entrepreneur in personal development), I “sold” jobs, which people mostly want, especially in this economy. The easiest of sales jobs, it would seem. But that’s farthest from the truth.

What is easy in sales is the mindset of the person selling. Two things to keep in mind:

  1. Give tours, not sales pitches.
Be a tour guide rather than a product pusher.
  2. Detachment.
Be detached from the outcome, because ultimately, you can’t control who buys or not.

There’s a shift in what works in sales these past few years, too. It’s in the overall mindset of the consumer: relationships are the way to grow a clientele today. People want to be heard, they want to trust who they’re buying from. And, like I mentioned earlier, they want the freedom to buy if they want to.

When you ask questions, learn about the situation of the person, and make recommendations based on their facts, allowing them to ultimately buy (rather than succumb to being sold), you’ll have a very harmonious and symbiotic relationship.

Most importantly, this is the way you will be truly helping people. That is what makes any business rewarding, is it not?

A great resource for this technique is “Natural Selling” by Michael Oliver.

Some call it Law of Attraction, some call it praying with faith… Setting an intention and taking action knowing that “when you want something, the universe conspires in helping you achieve it.” (Paulo Coelho)

The band I call my musical soul mate (I’ve loved them for at least 12 years), Third Eye Blind was playing an hour away from me… and I found out the day before the show. I bought general admission tickets, which turned out to be seats in the side back. Not satisfied, and wanting very badly to be in front of the VIP section (which is still two rows back from the front)…  so my friend David and I decided to set an intention, pray with faith, knowing the God wants to bless us with awesome seats!

So we began to brainstorm about how to get the tickets. My aunt & uncle got front row tickets for Gipsy Kings by asking the Box Office last-minute, so I’ll try the same thing. We asked, and the told us to come back in 15 minutes, and they would release some better tickets. Well, it ended up that we got BETTER than VIP. Front row, center.. right by the mic… check out this video.

For my fellow 3eb fans, I found out that today, July 6th 2010, Third Eye Blind is recording their next album following Ursa Major, rumored to be titled Ursa Minor. This is their 5th full-length album. One of the songs on it are “Now I Don’t Know” which you might have heard if you’ve seen them on their Ursa Major tour.

Here’s some more news. Stephan Jenkins announced that Third Eye Blind has a new member… Kryz Reid and he’s an awesome guitarist from Dublin. (UPDATE: Here’s his thirdeyeblind.com page: http://thirdeyeblind.com/users/QPnknhib)

…a window opens, right? And yet, even for the most positive person who can find the good in any situation (I like to think I’m the most positive person I know!), when you don’t get what you planned for, it straight-up sucks.

This week I planned on going to Austin to get some work done while visiting friends, which is just one fun aspect of being my own boss and having a portable home business! Well, my lymph node decided to be swollen (though I feel fine!), so I didn’t want to risk it in case I got sick. Things are going around these days!

Long story short, I’m home, and for some reason, have been singing Third Eye Blind music all week (some music lovers have songs randomly begin playing in their heads – sounds crazy, but it happens!). And on occasion, in my strong desire to see them in concert as often as possible, I’ll google to find out if there are any concerts they aren’t advertising in my area. So I did a random search, knowing that Third Eye Blind is known for playing 4th of July shows, or New Year’s Eve shows unadvertised. This band makes my soul move in ways music rarely can do… I don’t want to miss any show!

Then I found it… Third Eye Blind, July 3rd, 2010, Winstar Casino (about an hour from Dallas!!!). And you know what? I wouldn’t be able to go if I was in Austin!!

So there you have it. Another example of things working out better than I could have planned it!

So the reminder to me is be open to possibilities, especially in circumstances that are out of my control. In this life there are nothing but possibilities!
