- Sara HPlover, Wisconsin5 contributionsGreat history of the Pabst Brewing Company! We had several hours to kill prior to a wedding at the brewery and decided last minute to take this tour. We are so glad that we did! This tour had such great history and stories of the Pabst Brewing Company. Our tour guide, Scott, was so good with a great sense of humor.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 29, 2023
- Jessica SMoberly, Missouri27 contributionsHistory and a beerHighly recommend stopping by for the tour and beer. Lots of history shared by an excellent guide. Although this is not currently a brewery, you will not be disappointed. Well worth the money. Also, they rent it out for weddings and parties. I'm sure that would be cool.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 17, 2023
- Johnny TrekkieSan Diego, California9,336 contributionsBEER!For $14, visit and relive a piece of American beer history, which also includes a nice cool smooth pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon. The first 20 minutes of the 1 hour tour takes you inside the main beer hall, where you're treating to one of the more interesting Power point presentations ever, with a very enthusiastic tour guide, also drinking PBR with you, whom gives a fun and informative walk down memory lane about all history and details of Pabst. Pay attention, answer a quiz question correctly, and you can win an additional pint of PBR. You'll walk through some hallways, stairwells, see the main ballroom and the original office of the founder Jacob Best and ultimately Captain Pabst. It's a fun historical tour for beer lovers and history nerds like myself. Not so much fun if you're not a beer drinker.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 20, 2023

This place is really nice alternative to classic brewery visit. You get a 30min introduction about rise and fall of the historic best / pabst location. Along with a beer included in tour price and very interesting and lively presentation time flies by in a second. Place is under renovation. Our friends were very happy also! Shop offer small utensils like coasters or beer glasses.

Great tour. The guide was spectacular and loads of history and a free beer sample included in price. Tour lasts an hour, $10-12 admission fee on the hour. Check times may vary each day. Fun gift shop to browse. Loads of history to learn!! Minimal walking, some stairs.

If you’re looking for a tour of a brewery, this is not it. The Best Place is located at the former Pabst brewery and it is no longer in use. The tour was consisted of sitting in one room and listening to the guide. They do take you to another location, but it’s just an event space with more talking. 1 free drink but choices were limited. The gift shop was the best part.

This was a really nice day tour to experience if you are from out of town and enjoy a cold PBR on tap. The gift shop has everything you could possibly imagine for the PBR lover, the outside seating, the coffee shop, and the courtyard were lovely to enjoy a beverage before/after the tour. Beer is really reasonably priced. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself is mostly informational, you only see a few different spots in the building. Overall, highly recommend the tour and/or visiting for a beer or two!

One of the best brewery tours I've been on. It's not a traditional tour in which you get the "this is how barley and yeast and malt and water come together." This tells you about the history of beer in Milwaukee and how Pabst Brewery fits in. The tour encompasses several of the many buildings (as there are still renovations going on), and gives you a sense of what it was like back in the day. What I specifically appreciated was Scott's (longtime friend of the current owner) sharing of the more recent history of the place, especially how his friend bought and began renovations of the complex. I specifically appreciated his opinions of various events, a departure from the often sanitized versions so often given. I don't have to agree, but I appreciate the point of view of a person who was there (nb: I did agree).
Pair this tour with the Pabst Mansion to get a solid understanding of the role and importance of this family and company to the city of Milwaukee and beyond.

My husband and I visited the Pabst place because PBR was my dad’s favorite beer. We really enjoyed walking around the old building and listening to the stories about Pabst history. This was not a tour about how beer is made, but rather the history of the company.
It was fine though, because we had a complimentary cold beer and listened to great stories!!

This was one of the best brewery tours we have visited. $24.00 for two tickets, that includes one complimentary beer per ticket. The tour lasts about an hour and it was presented in a very entertaining, but informative way. Won't be a spoiler here, but we learned a lot about PBR and we now have a new perspective of it. All the staff we encountered were very professional and friendly. There was also live music until 900PM. Loved the tour!

This place changed how I think about brew tours. The guide is blunt about explaining how beer is made. He says you can Google it if you want to know. Instead, the tour focuses on the history of PBR and the people employed there.
The location is beautiful and the stories are engaging.

Pabst hasn’t brewed beer in it’s original buildings in Milwaukee since December 1996. So, this tour isn’t the usual “here is how beer is made” tour. It is a history lesson on the brewery, it’s founders and beer making in Milwaukee. You get a friendly greeting and a beer when you arrive and it’s pretty fun to drink your beer as you are taking the tour.
You only tour a few rooms of the old brewery. It’s the 30 minute introductory film and tour guide stories that make this tour so interesting. Our tour guide, Scott, knew some of the prior owners and his story telling will have you paying rapt attention. He has the perfect personality to engage you in what he is saying. There are a lot of stories and a lot of history. Time will fly by. An you will have enjoyed every minute of it.
We loved this tour. And we bought a few souvenirs in the well stocked gift shop to remind us of our visit.
