Join us for SURFACE TENSION, an outdoor dance happening at the Star Mountain Amphitheater in Sharon, Vermont on Friday and Saturday, August 28th and 29th, at 3:30 pm and 6 pm. Featuring works choreographed by Lucia Gagliardone in collaboration with dancers Lydia Roe, Emma Dewey, Lucy Sydel, and Brigid Armbrust. We would love to have you!
To attend, please complete the form below to request a spot at one of the four showings for your entire family/kinship unit. Reservations are required so that we can ensure a controlled number of groups for the safety of everyone. This form will also serve as a contact tracing tool should the need arise.
This is a socially distanced, outdoor dance event with a limited audience to ensure the safety of everyone. We ask that audience members wear masks at all times. Hand sanitizer will be available, courtesy of Silo Distillery. The site is a wide open, outdoor space with lots of fresh air, and socially distanced seating will be clearly delineated; audience members will not walk through any private living spaces so as to protect the families at Star Mountain. Dancers have been tested and are practicing safe rehearsals!
SURFACE TENSION is reallocating 25% to the proceeds from our ticket sales to the Susu Healing Collective’s BIPOC Land Sovereignty Project in Brattleboro. Other proceeds will go directly to the dancers for their artistic labor. Check out
https://www.susuheals.com/ to learn more about the collective, or head to
https://www.gofundme.com/f/bipoc-healing-foods-fund to contribute directly to the fund. As a cast and crew, we firmly stand in solidarity with Black Lives and believe in the reallocation of resources as a central part of anti-racist work. We extend our gratitude to the leaders of the Susu collective for the amazing work they are doing for our Vermont community.
Tickets are $10 per person, with a sliding scale between $0-$75. Those who are able to contribute more funds to support the Susu Healing Collective and the dancers are encouraged to do so! This is an open performance, no one will be turned away due to lack of financial resources.

A note on accessibility: as part of this dance event, audience members will be asked to walk around the Star Mountain Amphitheater property, including walking up and down a small grassy hill for the first dance piece. Audience members are welcome to opt out of this portion of the event and remain at the pond if they feel more comfortable!
