Haud yer wheesht means shut up,

which is probably what I should do right now.

Because I'm killing my career one moment at a time.

(bag pipes)

I'm Gerard Butler and this is Scottish slang.

Baccy; tobacco, either chewing or smoking.

Trolley is a shopping cart.

Also, to be off your trolley means your out of your head,

you're very drunk.

Yeah, he was off his fucking trolley.

Ah dinnae ken.

Ah dinnae ken.

More used on the East Coast of Edinburgh.

It means; I don't know.

Bevy, a drink; let's go for a bevy.

Okay, air beige is a (fart noise) fart.

Bawbag.

Aye a wee bawgag, is a scrotum.

Means you are a scotum.

Steamin, one of our hundred thousand words for being drunk.

Wee bit, means a little amount.

You know, were you drunk, are were you steamin?

Ah, a wee bit.

Gaun yersel, go on, you can do this.

It's a sign of encouragement.

Not something you often get in Scotland.

(laughing)

Yer bum's oot the windae means, you're talking nonsense.

Yer bum's oot the windae.

Bonnie is maybe my favorite Scottish word.

You know, you say; Bonnie Scotland,

or; A bonnie wee lass.

It means lovely, beautiful, sweet.

I'm getting the messages.

Means; I'm going shopping.

I'm going to the shop, I'm getting the messages.

Because normally when people go shopping,

somebody writes it down for them,

so they literally have it in message form.

So they go, and they go to the shops, and go;

alright potatoes, alright carrots, alright turpentine.

Okay, tatties is potatoes.

Mince n' tatties, which is our national dish said.

Which is basically just minced beef and potatoes.

Peely wally is something that's been used

to describe me very often, it means pale.

So maybe, after a night out;

you're looking very peely wally.

Fizzy juice, soda.

Jobby.

Jobby means shit.

The sweetest name that you could ever have for shit, jobby.

(laughing)

I find that funny, but it's maybe because I'm from there.

Anyways, Scran.

Scran means food, right? Simple.

Hogmanay is New Years Eve.

And in Scotland, there's a big, big, big

traditional thing with us with bringing the whiskey

and a piece of coal,

and an ax if you don't like your neighbor.

But if you do, just stick to the whiskey and coal.

Pure barry means; that's brilliant, that's wonderful.

In Scotland, pretty much everybody

is sarcastic all the time.

So there's a good chance, if you hear; pure barry,

they're actually telling you that you're a dick.

Which is pretty much what every other

conversation is going to.

Like, my friend a few years ago said to me,

put his arms around me and he said;

I just wanna say, Gerry, through all this success,

I love that you haven't even changed.

You're still a dick.

Rank means disgusting.

It's like; ugh, Jesus, that was rank.

There's pretty much a theme of things that are gross,

ugly, drunk, and stupid.

I think I've pretty much just summed it up.

(laughing)

This actually reminded me a whole lot about the shit

that I used to speak.

It was rank.
