Review: One Ride by Chelsea Camaron

One Ride is the first book in the Hellions series by Chelsea Camaron. This one was a good story, and I enjoyed the motorcycle club aspects of this book. I think if you are looking for a typical MC type of book though, this one might not be for you. You do get some of the violence and action, with some hot and badass heroes. But this one didn't have as dark and gritty of a feel as most MC books that I have read before. I actually really liked that this one was different and didn't feel the same as a typical MC read. It was nice to see a different side to these types of characters.

Delilah "Doll" Reklinger has grown up in the MC world and knows what it takes to be a part of that life. Her father is the President of the club, and she has always been looked out for by him and his brothers. She knows that he doesn't want her with any of the members, and even though she knows that someday she wants to end up with a biker she has never met one that is worth the fight before. When she meets Tripp, for the first time that changes. When Doll is threatened her father Roundman sends her with Tripp, Tripp's cousin Rex, and Doll's best friend Sass on a road trip to get her out of the area. Tripp vows to do anything necessary to keep her safe for Roundman. But the attraction between the two of them continues to grow the closer they become while on their trip. With one ride to figure things out between them, can they figure out a way to make a relationship work? Or will their future be cut short due to all the obstacles that stand in their way?

I liked Tripp (real name Talon) a lot. He was sexy and alpha, and would do anything for Doll. He did some things that I didn't like, but he was struggling with his feelings for Doll and everything that went with that. He thought that he wasn't good enough for her and that she deserved a better life than the one that he could offer her. I kept wanting to slap some sense into him, but I'm glad that he started to figure things out with the help of Doll and his friends and family. Doll was feisty and strong, she was used to the lifestyle and understood what went along with that. But she wasn't afraid to open her mouth and speak her mind and I really enjoyed that. There were a few times that she didn't listen or pay attention though, and it drove me nuts! Even though there were those few times that she annoyed me, she was actually a pretty great character. I liked that her and Tripp brought out different sides to each other, and their connection was undeniable. They had a ton of chemistry and were super hot together. Beyond that though they were sweet and thoughtful with each other, and that was surprising to me. He might have said he didn't date and wasn't that type of guy, but then he would give her maps that he knew meant a lot to her when they couldn't stop and get them because of the danger that they were in. He was always thinking of her and that just made me love his character even more.

Overall, I thought that this book was really good. I did feel as though a lot of this book was mostly Tripp and Doll's inner thoughts, and while I enjoyed the dual POV I was hoping for more interaction between the two of them. I would have liked to have seen more of the dialogue rather that just their thoughts about everything that was going on. I liked the secondary characters as well as Tripp and Doll though, and I can't wait to see what happens with Sass, Tank, Rex and Caroline. This was a great start to the series, and I think a lot of readers will really enjoy getting to know these interesting characters and their MC world. This MC book was different and unique and I think that if you like MC books, you should definitely give this one a shot. I can't wait to read more in this series and from Chelsea Camaron in the future.
