He broke my heart. She died. He used me. She made my world go round.
He tore me apart, put me back together and tore me up again.
She was the only person who truly loved me. My mental state is…questionable. My life is in ruins. My heart is ripped to shreds and it’ll probably never be put back together again. My twin sister, Sarah, passed away a few days ago. She was the sun in my sky, the grass between my toes and the light to my dark. I miss her so much. I don’t know if I can go on without her. My ex boyfriend, Tate, has come back into town for the funeral. I feel rage. I feel despair. I have violent urges. I have this need for revenge were he’s concerned. My brother-in-law, Max, is acting…strange. I think he’s hiding something, something I don’t want to find out. He might be the glue though, the glue I need to hold me together. My name is Farah and I want to get even for every single lie I’ve been told. I want to get even for all the things people have hid from me. Mostly I want to get even for this black hole my heart has been turned into. *Complete standalone. Not connected to any other series. That is the only warning you'll get.

This is a really incredible and amazing read. It's also an emotional and heart-wrenching story of loss, love, and lies. Farah and Sarah are twins who were the best of friends, loved each other immensely, and were always there for one another. They both had problems and baggage from their traumatic childhood and bad decisions. Sarah was married, had a beautiful young son, and was pregnant with another baby. Sadly enough, she was told that she couldn't have any more children because her body couldn't handle it and she knew there was a chance she would not survive it but she couldn't bring herself to kill her unborn baby. Sarah dies and leaves her husband, son, and twin sister to try to pick up the pieces of their lives without her. Farah feels so broken inside and doesn't know if she will survive this. Her husband, Max, is numb and destroyed. And of course her little boy doesn't really understand it and is heartbroken. Sarah was greatly loved and respected but she had many faults. Sarah loved Farah with all her heart but she had a tendency to get jealous of her and do many hurtful things to her. Farah was jealous of Sarah for many reasons but she would never do anything to hurt her and she did everything she could to protect her. On top of all that, Max's older brother is Tate who lied and hurt Farah so many times through the year. She's had to deal with too much.

It is a complicated story with different perspectives and points of view.

Max is a wonderful man that married someone he loved with all his heart but he also loved her twin sister. He was attracted and in lust with Farah from the first time he saw her but then he got to know her and loved her. But his brother Tate wanted his brother and everyone else to hurt just as much as he did and he went after her to hurt his brother. Then he wanted her for her but he had a tendency to hurt and push the people he loved away. Max ended up with Sarah and they fell in love, married, and started a family. But he ended up having both the girls in his life and he got what he needed from each. Farah enjoyed the same type of music he did and she enjoyed watching movies and tv with him. Sarah he got all the family things, love, and all that from her. Now he's lost his wife and doesn't know what to do with his life.

Farah has had a pretty traumatic life. Her mother physically and verbally/mentally abused her. She verbally and mentally abused Sarah as well but never physically. She was always a protector to her sister. Sarah seemed to have a better life and she had a tendency to be jealous of her but she would never have hurt her, she loved her too much. Sadly enough, Sarah had a tendency to hurt Farah when she was jealous. She lived with the belief that no one else could hurt her sister but her. Her mother was a horrible person and wanted Farah to be miserable and thinks she deserved it. The father was a doormat to their mother and never stood in the way of her hurting their daughters. They had their Grandma and Pops growing up but an accident one night ended up killing the Grans and both girls had such guilt for that. Sarah ending up turning her life around and being a better person and sister but she still ended up hurting the ones she loves with dying.

Definitely worth reading. Make sure you have tissues on hand.

I love Amanda dearly, but for some reason I just didn't like this one as much, i would recommend it, if you love her writing, but not to buy if it's the first book you read of hers.
Sorry but only a 3 star compared to her other excellent books.

This is the first book of Ms. Heath's I have read. I must say I am quite impressed!! The plot is unique and not done to death. The story flows nicely, the characters are easy to follow and understand (even if you want to smack one up side the head).

Farah and Sara, twins. One dark one light. Or so we think. Tate and Max, brothers from different Mothers. Love/hate relationship. Follow the path these 4 go down. The sadness of loosing a sibling to the joy of finding your true love. Who ends up with who? Read this book and find out. I would totally recommend this book to a friend.
