Kym Grosso is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the award-winning paranormal romance series, The Immortals of New Orleans. She also writes a contemporary romantic suspense series, Club Altura. In addition to romance novels, Kym has written and published several articles about autism, and is passionate about autism advocacy. She is also a contributing essay author in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Raising Kids on the Spectrum.

She lives in sunny southern California where she enjoys the beach, exploring the Pacific ocean to see whales & dolphins, hiking, film, hot yoga and traveling. She holds a bachelor’s degree from West Chester University and a MBA from Widener University. In a previous life, she was employed as a speech therapist, a health care consultant, and a product manager for a software company. In 2012, Kym published her first novel and today, is a full time novelist.

    This book deserves 5 stars, it keeps you griped from start to finish. Kym has bought a love story, together with erotica and a thriller. The characters, wow. Garett you cant help but fall in love with. He lives for the thrill life doesnt give him, but realising love can give him that he lets his heart rule for once. I cant wait to read the next installment, lars i think will be the main character, Carnal risk left me wondering about the true lars. Hes capable of true love and this mistery woman will be the one. I hope to find out who the murderer is, was even involved in it all. Alot of questions to be answered in book to. A must read for any fans of thrillers, a good old love story and of course ones who love a good sex scene. .

    I am very excited that this is the first of a series, because I love the premise, and there is clearly a lot more mileage in stories about the Club Altura members.

    The dual POV worked well, and the overlapping of incidents made for interesting takes on the same scenario. It was steamy hot and possibly best read when in private. I thought that the espionage plot was well dealt with too, and added depth to the story. I have to say I would jump out of a plane for Garrett, however scared I might be! Lots of hotness, and then lots of humanity too. Will be on my reread list.

    Garrett Emerson, hot jaw dropping gorgeous Dare Devil, total risk taker, cheating death taker, Billionaire and CEO of Emerson Corporation which is built on risk taking and top secret priorities. Anything X-treme and his there. Club Altura is his baby for an elite group of his employees/friends, and his initial backers, all with the same mentality and risk adventurers, mainly consisting of base jumpers. I got the impression you had to base jump to become one of the elite inner circle.

    When Garrett’s best friend and CTO has an accident while he and Evan were base jumping Garrett knows for sure this was no accident. Evan is the one who taught Garrett and was very anal when it came to safety. Garrett tumbled into a terrible funk over the loss of his friend. His buddy Lars needed to get him out of it quick and get his mind on his company and the many deals still waiting to be closed, not to mention hiring a replacement for Evan. So when Lars suggested meeting at a club on the premise Lars had a surprise for him, Garrett had no idea this little surprise would be totally life changing, mind altering. You see Lars is wanting Garrett to hire Selby Reynolds Technology Specialist extraordinaire, recruiter, on a temporary basis to get the one deal up and out the door and to help find Evan’s replacement. It’s already been several weeks and Garrett hasn’t really moved on anything. Selby who herself is a pretty sharp cookie agrees to the arrangement but only after she has a contract drawn up to protect her and her interests. Garrett not used to having people stand up to him is taken by Selby’s intelligence and tenacious personality.
    This read is full of suspense, intrigue, betrayal, deceit and murder. Oh yeah we can’t forget the romance. Garrett and Selby are one dynamic duo. Don’t get me wrong this was so not smooth sailing for them and I loved it. The one thing I totally loved was Garrett’s totally attitude towards Selby. She was the biggest risk he’d ever taken and his biggest adrenaline rush. I loved it, totally loved it. When Garrett was comparing some of his biggest adrenaline rushes Selby was by far the biggest hands down. 5* and I so can’t wait for Lars story, but 2016 is going to kill me.

    My first Kym Grosso book but definitely not my last!! Loved the story line, always something happening!! The main character Garrett was very enticing! He was gorgeous of course, dominant, very rich but I really liked his character. Selby was the main female and I liked her confidence yet she had many obstacles from her past to over come. Great story line and I would recommend it for sure. 5 stars from me!!

    One thing I’ve come to learn about Kym Grosso’s male and female characters is that they are a dichotomy of sorts – their layers seem to go against each other – their inner and outer personas that come together to make up the complexity of who they are and add to the intrigue and passion of what makes them a complete self.

    For the hero and heroine in Kym Grosso’s latest release, Carnal Risk, their innate contradictions are compounded by the fact that they are what seems to be each other’s complete opposite, which adds to the intrigue of the story line and helps to illustrate to readers just how paradoxical both characters are.

    Garrett Emerson lives his life in order to capture the “elusive rush,” always pushing the envelope and taking risks to ensure that the high felt in all facets of his world are extreme. Professionally, Garrett works hard to be on the “cutting edge,” always looking to be ahead of the rest, working on projects that are highly classified and wanted by many competitors. In Garrett’s personal life, those same risks apply – although in a more carnal manner. No risk is too great or high unobtainable.

    Selby Reynolds’ life is nothing like Garrett’s. Her past defines her present, and her façade of confidence conceals her constant panic and fear. Selby is in no way a coward, but she refuses to take risks that will jeopardize her life or her sanity.     Carnal Risk is a story of Selby and Garrett's journey of carnal exploration. Selby is a IT Hacker and suffered a terrible trauma when she was young. Her mother unfortunately did not help to overcome the incident. Garrett is the enigmatic owner of Emerson Industries which Selby is hired to help in a case. Their first meeting consists of "Garrett sucked a breath as she sat firmly on his lap, her eyes snapped to his as they both registered his erection pressing through his jeans onto the thin fabric of her panties". Great read, suspense and great sexy times for two damaged souls.
