TOLDJA! Fox has picked up the two shows my insiders picked as hottest there: the sitcom SONS OF TUCSON (Twentieth TV/J2TV) and the drama HUMAN TARGET (Warner Bros/DC Comics/Wonderland). Both now join two at the network, GLEE and Family Guy spinoff CLEVELAND, and two at ABC, MODERN FAMILY and FLASH FORWARD, as the first pilots officially ordered by their respective networks. Fox also has renewed its Tim Roth drama, LIE TO ME. But ABC is unofficially declaring LIMELIGHT and NO HEROICS dead, nearly as early as NBC decided that the David E Kelley hour LEGALLY MAD was DOA. The CW’s long-running ONE TREE HILL was renewed for a 7th season but the network couldn’t come to turns contract-wise with the show’s star couple Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton. Instead, two new characters will be brought on in the fall. I’m told that ABC’s ROMANTICALLY CHALLENGED (formerly the untitled Ricky Blitt Project) with Jim Burrows directing came in better than expected but star Alysso Milano was worse than expected. What a dilemma. But I’m also hearing that the Lauren Graham pilot THE BRIDGET SHOW isn’t dead yet but it’s gone from hot to lukewarm. “They’re not really excited about it,” my source says. I also hear that MIAMI TRAUMA and THREE RIVERS are still in skintight competition at CBS for the medical show Les Moonves wants.
