Because the culture in many organizations implicitly and explicitly favors men, women in graduate and professional schools face barriers to their success. After graduation, many of these challenges do not go away, and despite the growing opportunities for women, the need to navigate obstacles related to gender is still a reality for most career women.

In this workshop, we will discuss some of the barriers that women face to their success both in school and in their careers and strategies to overcome them. Specific topics include: the imposter syndrome, work-family balance, and negotiating wage offers, salary, and benefits.

Dr. Sharon McMillen Cannon of the Kenan-Flagler Business School will facilitate.

Lunch will be provided by Vimala’s Curry Blossom Café.

Sponsored by The Graduate School's Professional Development Program as part of the Leadership Development Scholars Program.
