Marquette-Alger County Early Childhood Screening
• Early Childhood Screening is provided free through a collaboration between Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA), Community Action Alger Marquette (CAAM), the Health Department, Great Start to Quality, and the local school districts! It is for all children who will be age 3 or 4 by December (of the current year).
Screening is a simple check of how your child is developing and growing in the following areas: Cognitive Development, Large & Small Muscle Development, Language & Communication Skills, Social & Emotional Development, Vision & Hearing, Growth, & Health History. The purpose of Early Childhood Screening is to help close the achievement gap by helping to identify potential developmental or health problems that could interfere with a child’s learning. Identifying any areas early will allow time for interventions before your child enters traditional schooling.
• Appointments average 1-2 hours.
