Noooo how can you end a book like that, goodness me that was the perfect ending to a fabulous book. Oh I have just had to sit here and think about what has happened in this book, I am just so happy I read it.

This book started and I couldn't put it down, I wanted to know what was happening and if we were going to find out by the end of the book if everything works out and bam cliffhanger loved it.

I loved Corban, his character was fantastic and I loved how assertive he was and how he tried to stay away from Melodi but that Insta love (I do love an Insta love book) couldn't keep him, away and it was fantastic.

I really felt for Melodi, she had been through so much and to be honest I don't blame her for not wanting to date and be careful when it came to men, I would be the same, but I did love how clumsy she was but how strong she was as well. I love that in a female character

The chemistry was amazing through this book and Liz Lovelock Author's writing took me back to when I first fell in love with reading and I miss the books where the characters are in love but we don't have to read about every time they have sex and this was so refreshing.

This book had everything, Insta love, mystery, romance. I can not wait to read the second book and Liz’s other books.

Loved love loved this book,you need to give this book a go it is absolutely fantastic.

This was one of the best debut novels I have ever read! The story between Melodi and Corban is awesome!

Melodi is struggling after losing her sister three years ago to an abusive boyfriend and has decided to live out one of her and her sister's life long dreams of moving to NYC.

After struggling to find a job she finally gets hired by Case Construction as the personal assistant to the CEO. When she goes out to celebrate her new job with her bestie Flick, she ends up tripping while going up the stairs of her favorite club Phoenix. She is helped out by the extremely handsome and very charming, Corban. What she doesn't realize after one amazing kiss with Corban is...she just kissed her new boss!

Their connection goes from there and boy is there one hell of a cliffhanger at the end with a HUGE plot twist! I seriously can not wait for the next book to come out!!

For a first novel this was a great story. Well done Liz! Cant wait for the next instalment of the Corban and Melodi saga. It was an excellent boy meets girl story with a twist because of how broken Melodi is about her sister's death. I loved the interaction between the two but the only fault that I could find is the language is "stilted" and robotic in places....such as "That is what I said we will do" instead of saying "That's what we're going to do"
I think the next book will be even better if this problem can be fixed so that the words flow better.
I really did enjoy the story though, and I look forward to many more from this new author.

It was an ok book I loved how it ended and I'm actually inclined to read the next one... however I nearly stopped reading so many times as Melodi drove me insane she was so all over the place, half the time it didn't make sense why she was acting like she was acting, she just really grated on my nerves. Corban and her 2 best friends are what kept me reading, they were great characters although I did question Corban's judgement putting up with a lot of Melodi's crap but hey he is just a really guy! So good on him!

Melodi confused me. She was supposed to be strong and careful but as the story progresses, she seems to be only drinking, slipping, shopping, giggling or spending time with corban. So much so that she even keeps forgetting that she needs to share something important with him. She is portrayed like an alcoholic.
Found the beginning and the ending interesting so will definitely pick the sequel. Middle portion can be skipped and the story would still make sense 🙄

Abby White, Melodi's twin sister disappears when she goes to tell her abusive boyfriend that she wants to break up with him. His apartment has her blood and her locket necklace in it but without a body he is not convicted of murdering Abby.

Melodi moves to New York City, finds a job, makes good friends and starts a relationship with Corban Andrews, CEO of Case Construction and life is good until her sister's ex-boyfriend comes into her new job as a client. Now Jacob has found her, he first confronts her on the street, sends roses with one or more black one and starts sending text messages that she knows where Abby is and she is not dead.

The love story between Melodi and Corban is sweet, hot and moves along quickly as he keeps her calm and tries to protect her. The mystery about Abby and the threat from Jacob add an element of danger. The ending is anti-climactic and answers some questions but not all of them, which gives the author a good start for the plot in a second book in this series.

Melody is a fiesty, sweet and very niave girl who ends up losing her twin sister, Abby. Her twin disappears and Melody and her mum and dad believe that Abby's then boyfriend, Jacob killed her but there was no proof as her body was never found. Melody attends his trial where he is found not guilty.

Three years later and Meldoy has moved to New York from philly and has started to try and put the past behind her. She decides to get a job and goes for an interview for a personal assistant at Case Constructions. She gets the job and on her first day of work, she finally gets to meet her boss......Mr Corban Andrews! Hot sexy Corban! (i'm so in love). This comes as a shock for Melody as her boss is the guy she met in a night club and made out with! She can't believe he is her new boss. The chemistry between them is electric but Melody isn't sure where she stands now the situation has changed. She has many trust issues when it comes to males but she wants to trust him and let someone in.

Good news, she does and they fall madly in love with each other! (love that part) but not everything is move sailing.

Melody sees Jacob in New York which puts her in a spin and there are new developments arise regarding Abby's disappearance. There is an awesome ending to the book which has left me with a load of questions. I was left going "what,what,what???"

Fantastic book and i was hooked from the start. I had to leave it at 1am and i'm telling you, it was a hard thing to do! I love that Corban isn't a "typical" CEO. You, know the possessive, controlling type. He is far from it and i loved that about him. He is a guy that many people would fall for. An awesome debut for Liz Lovelock and a full 5 stars deserved.

The story begins with the realization that Melodi's sister Abby was more than likely murdered by her boyfriend Jacob. Even though they found blood and her necklace in his apartment they never found a body so he never went to jail. The story picks up 3 years later with her trying to go on with her life fulfilling their dream of living in New York. She meets Felicity (Flick) who takes her under her wing and they become close friends. They go out drinking after she has a long tiring day after a job interview and that's where she ends up meeting Corban when she literally fell into him. Their chemistry is off the charts but nothing happens because she freaks out and runs. They end up bumping into each other again and she again feels safe a sense of calmness comes over her. They get together and things progress but then something happens that changes everything and she begins to put her wall back up. I need to stop here so I don't give anymore away. There are lots of twist and turns especially towards the end. I cant wait to see where their journey takes them next.
