Description

Vision of Beauty: The Story of Sarah Breedlove Walker by Kathryn Lasky is an ideal text for celebrating African American History month and teaching entrepreneurship. This is an original lesson plan on the life of Madame C.J. Walker, who defied the odds, and in spite of growing up poor and orphaned, became the first African American woman millionaire, civil rights supporter/activist, philanthropist, and an extremely successful entrepreneur. Madame C.J. Walker's life was hard, but she overcame it all, with a positive attitude, vision, determination, and hard work.
