She ran from her past.
After relocating from a small town in Tennessee, Mila has been living in New York City for a year and a half, more than happy to be lost in the crowd. Living vicariously through her best friend and roommate, Nikki, Mila spends her days waitressing and her evenings at home. Then, one night, after getting exclusive tickets to a nightclub downtown, Nikki is able to convince Mila to let loose for once.

He’s running from his future.
Having lived a privileged life, William is used to getting what he wants, and who he wants. Now, though, in his thirties, he’s bored, and seeking more from his life than mindless sex, and even worse—mindless women. Spotting Mila from across the club, he senses right away that she’s different from what he’s used to, an observation that proves true.

One night together will change everything for both of them. Pasts and futures will collide, secrets will be revealed, and the results will transform both their lives forever.

was a very different delivery from Madeline Sheehan and it just shows what a great writer she is. this author can turn out dirty, erotic foul mouthed biker stories, added with a good plot and an alpha that makes you squirm in your seat - to writing contemporary romance (well written and) paranormal stories.

Yes some people might struggle with this as it is cliched but don't expect this to be like the other characters she has written about - if you do you will be disappointed. this is a straight down the line contemporary romance with a twist.

for me this author is just one of the best. I love everything she writes so a well deserved 5 stars because she can produce well written diverse stories

This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I have to say I really did enjoy it, the reason I only gave it four stars is because I like my books with talking between the people, it helps me feel like I know them better. but that is just my preference, but over all the story was good,

I have no issue with this book being vastly different in style and theme than others by these authors, particularly Madeline Sheehan but I do have issues with this book for being a 100% formulaic contemporary romance. There is nothing remotely new here. It's contemporary romance by numbers.

The whole storyline and, in particular, character development lack depth. I love Sheehan's writing for its ability to draw me in, to breathe life into the characters, to create a book world that captivates me. These elements are sadly lacking in this effort, with it being a superficial read. In no way did I feel invested in the characters or their relationship.

I guess if you are looking for a totally easy read with little substance this could be for you. I'm just left feeling both authors have done themselves and their talent a disservice with this.

I did not enjoy this book at all although I did read it to the end but got a refund. It was so disappointing, very boring and predictable. I love Madeline Sheehan biker books, although disappointingly there hasn't been a new one for a while now, so I was expecting this book to have the same powerful and dramatic feel to it but it was nothing like the usual way she writes. So for me, this collaboration of the two authors was not what I was expecting at all. The story is about Will, the rich guy, and Mila the waitress so already it is a very predictable 'pretty woman' type story. There was a bit of drama thrown in but that was it. Far too tame and predictable for me I'm afraid.

It could be just me expecting too much and as a result found it disappointing.
That is what happened ... I think.
It was predictable and even with all drama it turned out flat to me.

Shut Up and Kiss Me by Madeline Sheehan & Claire C. Riley
    Will & Mila

I saw this book come up for sale... And when I saw that it was co-written by Madeline Sheehan, it's a no-brainer for me... You buy it! I could sit through an insurance seminar if Madeline Sheehan was giving it. Her books have been rocking my world for a few years now and I've never read a bad one. This book was no different. I guess it could be in the contemporary romance category however there is suspense, there's action, there's hot steamy erotic sex. And just when you think things can't get any better, they get worse!

Mila is all kinds of messed up. She's living in New York City with her friend Nikki on the run from what I can only guess is an evil, hateful, and shady past! She seems to have her life together somewhat and live each day for what it is, another day above ground. When she meets William, her life seems to instantaneously transform, until her past comes trickling in. Will Mila come clean? How will she incorporate the information from her past into her future with Will? Will she run?

William Bellamy Townsend III is a beautiful man inside and out. He comes from a very wealthy, very well known, and very discourteous family. Although that may have been his upbringing, Will is definitely a millionaire with a heart! Will has set out to earn his own fortune away from the family business and doing quite well. He's sick of the normal gold digging girls that he usually sleeps with and he's searching for something real... Enter Mila!

The supporting character cast in this book was good. Mila's best friend Nikki was a tiny little spitfire that doesn't take s*** from anyone! My kinda girl! At times it seemed that Nikki was the only backbone Mila had and thank God for that. William's family was just dreadful. That Mother and sister of his... man oh man, I wanted to put Nair in both their shampoo bottles! I'd have to say, Richard (Will's driver) was one of my faves... there's a story there, just not sure it'll get told. Richard was always calm, cool, and collected with an enormous sense of humor!

This story was phenomenal and kept me glued to the pages from start to finish! The pacing is flawless, the dialogue flows and feels exceedingly natural, and the characters (lead & supporting) were very relatable. It will make you laugh through tears, make you cringe and bite your nails, but rest assured, it will also make you grin from ear to ear.

    5 Freakin' Stars!!!

I loved this book and the only reason why I gave it 4 stars was that the ending was so rushed. The start of their budding relationship was a well written story and loved the one liners from Nikki. I think there could be a story with Richard and Nikki hopefully.........
