Resident Wellness: Preventing and Treating Resident Burnout

A resident presentation on the state of resident burnout nationally, at UNC, and what's being done about it.

The Objectives:

At the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:

1. Describe the incidence and risk factors associated with burnout during residency in the United States.

2. Discuss the results of  the Taking Care of our Own UNC resident survey with regards to the incidence of and risk factors for resident burnout.

3. Relate successful approaches within Graduate Medical Education Programs to programs at UNC, that prevent burnout and encourage resiliency.
