***BLURB***
If you dig into the deepest parts of your soul, what would you find? Happiness, pain, love, regret, peace, sorrow? Now imagine experiencing all those feelings at once and then nothing at all. These were the average days in the life of Lennox Ashford.
Lennox walked a fine line between truth and deception, love and lust, and most of all, pain and happiness. A line had been drawn between highs and lows, testing her stability on a daily basis. She lived in between the grays of right and wrong, not knowing which way to sway. Strength was supposed to come from within, but being broken exposed her weaknesses instead.
She grew up believing in love and believing in Dean. He protected her when she was weak, picked her up when she fell, and fought for her when she couldn’t. They lived for each other, and eventually, for their children.
High school, college, marriage, children, and many rocky days had taken a toll on their marriage, deepening Lennox’s depression and screaming for a way out. She needed something. She needed a change. Fate intervened and the change she got was not what she expected nor wanted.
A tragic moment will test her already wavering strength and leave a permanent scar on her conscience. Follow her journey of rediscovering love and searching for her own fairy-tale ending.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2014When I had the chance to review this book I totally jumped at the chance due to the title and the book being about Firefighters. My great-grandfather had died in the line of duty he had his last call. He was a Captain of the Fire Dept. My Grandfather "Grampy Gus" was a retired Captain as well of the Fire Dept. Although I wasn't around when he was on the Fire Dept it always had a special place. All Firefighters do. The Sacrifices they make are priceless and much appreciated. I thank all the men and women who are Firefighters. With that being said here is my review.
Lennox a mom of two and a Firefighter's wife. Even though she was alone a lot it was a common thing for the wives and they joked they were "single moms". Lennox misses her husband Dean. He isn't around much due to his schedule. Something had been lost over time and didn't know if it was possible or not. Does she or doesn't she find all that is lost between her and Dean? Does the family become whole again?
I can relate to Lennox my first husband was a truck driver and he was gone a lot and the depression sunk in just like it did for Lennox. I also had two small children and all I wanted to do was sleep or just do what ever. I didn't care if the house was a mess or not. Depression is a very serious thing. There is help out there and no one is alone. It is amazing how I can relate to Lennox. Especially when you sit and think back to when you met your spouse and then you sit and wonder where everything went that you once shared.
I really enjoyed this story and thought Dani did a wonderful job writing it. Make sure you have your tissues handy. Very emotional book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2014A gut wrenching emotional roller coaster ride about Lennox, a 32 year old woman struggling with depression/bipolar disorder, motherhood, being married to a firefighter, and having a soul mate who is not her husband. This is her journey of how she came to be where she is and ultimately how she handles the ultimate tragedy in combination with all the other stresses in her life.
This book had me in tears multiple times! Lennox is an amazingly strong character who deals with her mental illness without medication. Granted, without it she has extreme highs and lows which make you want to slap her and her stubbornness sometimes. Dean (the husband) is a wonderfully supportive and romantic man who wants Lennox, faults and all. Though he makes mistakes along the way, ultimately she is the love of his life. Brayden (the soul mate) is a friend of Dean's, who also struggles with depression and has a connection with Lennox from the first time they meet. The connection they have, and their inability to be more than friends at the time, create a friendship unlike any other over the years which ends in heartbreak that is opened up again after many years.
I could not put this book down and devoured it in one sitting. Dani Hart has written an amazing, honest, and realistic story that will draw you in and make you feel as though you are a part of Lennox. I can say it is not a cliffhanger, but also not a HEA. There is definitely room for more to the story if she chooses to…which makes me very happy because I would love to see the long-term outcome of a few things.
Though this book has situations of sex and suicide it is cleanly written and, in my opinion, would not be offensive to anyone who chooses to read it. If you are looking for a good emotional read this is one for you!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2014A Firefighter's Flame is a quite touching story, that's written with such great detail. From the beginning I could relate to Lennox. Her voice placed you right there in the story.
Lennox is the wife of a firefighter, a mom and someone who suffers from depression and bipolar disorder. At times it seems like she's barely holding on. She endures some of the same struggles and insecurities as we all do, but with the added battles of her disorder. I truly felt for her in her times of depression and anxiety. I also loved how she fought through those times for her children.
This story touches on many topics such as love, loss, hope and heartbreak. It follows Lennox from her teenage years through adulthood and alternates between past and present. Even though the theme throughout the story is sad and sometimes heartbreaking, the pages continuously turned and my need for more of the story increased as I read.
The story did take on an unexpected twist and that left me anxious as to how things would work out. To travel along with Lennox on her journey of life and to see her struggle is tough. But the best part is seeing her overcome her battles, being brave and fighting for her life which is inspiring. She is truly a survivor and it's evident by the end of the story. "They say the darkest days of your life are when you are discovering who you are and what you need."

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional Rollercoaster.
This book recognises the difficulties of bipolar disorder, the hardships of being a fire fighters wife, the plights of the fire fighters themselves, the added stress of past love being an unsolved issue, feelings of guilt and betrayal, its a wonder the girl got through a single day but she did.
I have to say this book made me really ugly cry (not a nice sight lol), which is pretty difficult for anyone to get me do, very insightful, wonderfully written and researched well, a book that will have you on the edge of your seat, waiting and watching to see what will come next.
The layout was a little different, going backwards in time to their early college years to the present day, it was interesting and intriguing. A thought provoking, emotional, gut wrenching read.

Didn't really know what to expect as was recommended by a blog but even though I like the whole idea it kept jumping around which don't get me wrong I had to keep reading to see what happened in the end lol
