Hi Stephen:
Over on shroudstory.com the question has been raised: Have you considered the possibility that Mary Magdalene was the the beloved disciple? (See Leonard Swidler, Jesus Was a Feminist: What the Gospels Reveal about His Revolutionary Perspective, Sheed & Ward, 2007)

As I have stated, and I am sure you must be aware, it is my policy, stated in a comment under my post, "Turin shroud was made for medieval Easter ritual, historian Charles Freeman says" that:

"... mentioning of Dan Porter, and his blog, and his blog's members in connection with Porter's blog, is henceforth off-topic on my blog."

I even repeated it in a comment under my post, "Servant of the priest (1)." And I am even more sure that you would be aware of that comment.

This includes you, or your members, making comments on my blog for the purpose of providing `grist for the mill' of your blog.

So I am not going to answer your question except to say that the claim that "Mary Magdalene was the beloved disciple" is easily disproved by simply searching on an online Bible site for "disciple Jesus loved" (without the quotes).
