House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) today announced that Mary Phillips is joining the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit as a Senior Professional Staff member.

Phillips has extensive experience in surface transportation policy issues, in both the public and private sector.  She is the former Associate Administrator for Policy and Governmental Affairs for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and served as a senior professional staff member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.  In addition, she has worked as Senior Vice President for Legislative Affairs for the American Trucking Associations, and has experience working for several Class I railroads and as an analyst for the Amtrak Reform Council.  She received her MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Business.

“Mary is an experienced, knowledgeable addition to the Committee staff,” Shuster said.  “She is well-versed in the many issues that we will be working to address in the next surface transportation reauthorization bill, and am excited to have her join our team.”
