MPC #41: Ominous (Nov 6 - Nov 21)

RULES:
1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
3. The contest moderator will choose 5 photos to be voted on.
4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

For the theme, I chose "ominous" as I'd like people to try to capture that feeling in their images. Good luck!

I guess I kinda screwed up on the date range of this MPC...since I accidentally back-dated the beginning a few days, I cut the end short by two days. On one hand, this is good cause it allows inclusion of shots from this past weekend (like Hop's excellent one) but the down side is it is shorter than other MPCs....

So should we extend this one two days at the end and accept entries until 11/23, or just leave it as-is? Sorry I f'ed it up.

Let's go until 11/23. Nice to end on a Monday so weekend pics can be edited, etc. Selfish reason is I'm in NYC this weekend and plan on seeing many ominous things but won't have my comp with me.

or just keep the deadline as is but don't start voting until the wedneday, as long as the photo was taken in th etime frame it should count right?

I'm not a photographer at all, but I lurk in this forum all the time. I love these contests - you guys have so much talent. I just wanted to express my appreciation for all the eye candy. Hop, that's a sick fuckin shot man.

i agree, cool effect that adds to a cool shot (i also like the warm/cool light deal)

is that lens vignette, flash feathering, or post-production. if you don't mind me asking . . .
