<p>Good morning. I'm meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. All of last night's rain has moved out. We're gonna see a good bit of sunshine for it today, but behind yesterday's front, temperatures will be noticeably cooler. So around town this afternoon, just 61, and Raleigh 60 in Durham and 66 in Fayetteville. We're gonna see a very cold night tonight, and another cool day tomorrow. Temperatures, of course, aren't going to be in the 80s anytime soon until we get all the way to the end of the 7 day forecast. So, you know, this time of year, we see a lot of ups and downs. Couple of great things that we saw from the rain, we Need the rain yesterday. We ended up with around 1 to 2 inches that helped to keep our pollen counts down for today, but it's gonna jump up pretty quickly. We're back to a high level for Wednesday and Thursday, but allergy suffers, hopefully today will feel a little bit better to you and uh it was, it was great to see that rain. We really needed it. We did have some places that had some trees down. We're looking at a hard freeze overnight tonight, 30 in Roxborough, 32 and Clarksville, 32 in uh South Hill, 34 in Raleigh, so there's gonna be some places south. Of the Virginia line, where we're not seeing a hard freeze, but 34 in Durham, 34 in Goldsboro and Wilson, down south, uh 34 in Sanford, 40 in Fayetteville, 34 in Smithfield. So here's where we have the freeze warning. It's an effect really for uh all the counties except for Cumberland and Samson. So, um, if you're in cities like if you're, you know, in, in Raleigh or Durham or Chapel Hill or Fayetteville, you're, you're not likely to have any problems with your backyard garden, but definitely the farmers in the rural areas, um, peaches, strawberry. That sort of thing will be out there with their frost mitigation. You can see where we have the best chance of a freeze threat, and again that's Sanford Smithfield northward all the way up into Virginia. When do we see our average last freeze? Well, interestingly enough, it's today in Raleigh. Um, it's a little bit earlier than that as you travel southward, it's uh March 31st in Fayetteville. It's uh April 14th in Sanford, it's uh April 11th in Roxborough, so. Um, it is right about now, so we're pretty much right on target. Cool afternoons today and tomorrow with highs in the low 60s, we jumped to 71 on Thursday, but Thursday night and Friday we'll see some showers and scattered thunderstorms. Right now it looks as dry and cool for the weekend.</p>

I want to make sure and Thank you. Hello, everyone. My name is Ellen and I'm here today as a wife. As a Elementary school girls and I'm here as a nonprofit worker. Our family has called Raleigh home for the last 8 years, and I was lucky enough to grow up in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I'm here today though because my family is directly impacted by mass federal layoffs caused by. Elon Musk and Republicans. My husband Chris, his job. From the US Agency for International Development, or USAID, Chris, he spent 13 years at what he described as his dream job. He was on the Ebola tech force. He helped with localization efforts all around the world. One of those radical liberals. to lift up some of the most around the world. Humanitarians here in the US and abroad. 1000 other Colleagues, a lot. Many other organizations formerly funded by USAID and that counts FHI 360, RTI, some of the organizations right here in the Triangle. They saved countless lives. including women and children out of famine and poverty, they provided vaccines and others. Measures and so much more. USAID, they made the world our country and our Tar Heel state safer. Now, now Chris is one of the 60,000 federal workers who have been doged so far. 0, 70,000, OK. other well educated passionate. Service servants are out of a job and even a career. The jobs that on. Oh. Because the assault on federal workers and federal services is not right. Shame on you. Harm on important services like international aid, education. I I So many more. Yeah. I Administration. He. Heads of thousands of families, financial stability, including many in our own communities and those standing with us today, and for what reason so that we From the poor and middle class and make the wealthy wealthier.
