Beyond the First Day of Employee Orientation: Developing an Onboarding Program and Revamping Your Employee Handbook

January 15, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This is the rescheduled date (due to that pesky power outage on December 9).  If you want to keep the same options as when you first registered, you do not need to re-register. But if you need to make a change, please take a minute to register, using the button below.

We’re still holding this on the east side, making it easy for those of you on that side of Seattle to get out of the office for lunch. Join Seattle chapter member Renae Howard, CDFA, for this business practice roundtable. She will share knowledge from the EDConnect15 onboarding session, as well as best practices for updating your outdated employee handbook. Here’s what Renae has to say about this session:

Let’s explore the lessons learned from the informative EDConnect15 presentation, “Onboarding: More Than Just Orientation” (really integrating the new employee into the company culture and mentoring their success). Then, we’ll back up those employee welcoming and retention efforts by revamping outdated employee handbooks. I will have samples on hand, including notes from a recent Employee Handbook seminar. Don’t let your managers get tied up in the red tape of employee handbooks—forget the red tape, grab your red pencil and bring your current handbook; we’ll tackle them together!

Renae Howard photoSpeaker:  Renae Howard, CDFA, has enjoyed and benefited from her involvement in SDA. She believes passionately that the best way to take advantage of SDA’s educational benefits is to become involved in as many growth opportunities as possible. Renae’s involvement in the Seattle Chapter has been integral to her professional success during her 17 years as an administrator in the A/E community. Renae’s consulting business, Watching the Bottom Line, Inc., provides bookkeeping and administrative support to a variety of clients who directly benefit from the networking, resources, and education of the Seattle Chapter. She is in awe of the support and talents of her fellow chapter members and is grateful for another opportunity to give back to the organization.

No shows and cancellations after January 12 will not be refunded.
